I'm tired of Hokie Gajan on the radio

I had to drive back to TX during the game yesterday which meant I WWLed the entire game. Before Henderson is finished calling the play, Hokie interjects with a grunt, a "yes" or an "oh no.". I really wish he would stop doing that. It bugs the hell out of me. Another thing I noticed was that he talks over the referee after a penalty.
I would take a bullet for Jim Henderson though.

I can't stand him. I listened to most of the game on the way home from Florida yesterday and I thought the same thing. I don't understand the appeal.

Try to imagine Deke doing the game with Mr. Henderson.
Hokie suddenly seems a lot more appealing, doesn't he?

Pretty sure the only color commentary he actually provides is when someone other Pierre catches a screen pass.

I also find that he's super negative.

all of this
I'll turn down the sound on my TV and turn up the radio(sometimes)it depends on who the announcers are. The sports station in Mobile carries WWL on gamedays
In fact, last week when they were talking about the Saints on our local sports station, the host made this same remark. He was going on about how professional Jim Henderson is and how Hokie is just some "grunting homer" who takes away from an otherwise great boardcast.

I had to listen to the game for the first time in years driving back from Fayetteville. Me and my wife were bitching about him the entire ride. He's terrible. It's the accent that drives me nuts.

I don't find him to be all that negative. Being a former player, he does provide some good esoteric insight that someone like myself would never pick up on. However, Im pretty sure WWL could find another former Saints player for that gig. Heck, i remember in the late 90s/early 2000s, they would fly former O lineman Stan Brock down from Oregon to do the color commentary.

I don't have a problem with his grunts or whatever but when he wants to tell a little story that takes too long and cuts into Henderson calling the next play is a bit much.

None of you "had to" listen to him. you chose to listen to him. If he bothers you that much tuern it off or change the station. It is what it is. Now shove that tampon up there and carry on with life.

Same as everyone else, driving back from Atlanta Sunday, listening to the game and praying for Hokie to shut up about everything especially how good San Fran's D was and let Jim do the game. Honestly, Hokie adds nothing to the broadcast and just brings it down.

Just grit your teeth and bear it and know that you can look forward to the wonderfully insightful post game discussion with Deke and Bobby.

Commentators work best with one amazing commentator and one fat idiot. You cant separate them. They are New Orleans's Madden and Summerall.
Yeah Yeah no

I loved Hokie as a Tiger and Saint. With this being said, he has turned into a grumpy old man. He barks out at just about every caller that calls into the radio show with him and Christian.
Maybe living with all those girls has taken it's toll on him
