So basically Florida is going to get a very lame opponent....
OU or Kent State?
The BCS is so fricking lame.
Send Oregons arse down to NOLA and let Kent State go out to the Fiesta Bowl to get slaughtered by K-State. They can decide who is the real "K-State". A question that literally dozens of people have been wondering all year....

just an intuitive feeling, so feel free to dismiss if you've got a more compelling reason to do so
No, I like the way you think. Fair enough reasoning, and definitely possible, but not probable in my estimation.
Obviously, the opponent and possible matchup plays a significant part in their selection process, but I would allow any perceived positives for an LSU selection in the Cap One to be negated by the possibility of backlash from our most recent experience there.

aTm probably still generates more interest than us though because they are an in state team with the likely Heisman winner
Agreed.

Thedude54, I live in Bethany and hear the same along with how much they dislike Miles. I guess he really damaged them when he was at Okie state. They have the worst fans in all of college football and are the biggest whiners and excuse makers

no, they won't have a spot if Kent St, FLorida, ND are automatic. Oregon at #4 isn't automatic becasue of Florida, but Oklahoma won't get taken over Oregon.

well to be fair, the shitfest that was LSU's last trip wasn't our fault but you're right, it's certainly no sure thing to say that LSU is cap-one bound
someone else made a good point though, it wouldn't be unreasonable for some money to trade hands to make UT/TAMU happen if they want it

Kent State is either Orange or <shitty MAC bowl here> bound, most likely Orange at this point. Games to watch relevant to Kent State:
1. MAC Championship - Obvious, but if Kent State loses here then they're done.
2. Stanford/UCLA - Practically guaranteed a Stanford win here, or at least it seems to be, but a UCLA win here keeps Kent State at #17.
3. Kansas State/Texas - Again, seems like KSU has the win here, but Texas getting the upset would likely catapult them over Kent State even if Kent State wins and UCLA loses; Texas is two one-hundredths of a point behind Kent State and would get a nice boost from the computers and human polls with an upset win.
