what's awesome about this statement is Bama fans were complaining that throwing late in easy wins got McCarron hurt and that they should run more

Yo, Eyeball...here's a tip for ya ... EVERY game in the SEC is a - as you call it - a "had to win" game . ALL the games are tough on any given Saturday. But the way the league goes , if you gonna compete for the title - you got to win 'em all or or very close to it. By your reasoning , 'Bama "Had" to win the LSU game , but not the A&M game ? ... Tide got lucky , and frankly , so did Georgia. Didn't the Dawgs "have to win" the So. Carolina game ? Lots of close games every year ... your logic is weak, your argument "fail" . You give no credit to the other programs in the SEC , the other team's game day emotional levels - all sorts of factors, how hard the competition is, and just use the old shopworn "LSU has the best talent" - we better than everybody else" argument. Thats just weak , man. College football is a game , played by young guys. Things gonna happen. Some of the folks on TD could see Jesus walk on water and complain that "yeah, but the water got up to his ankles ".. IMHO

We were 90 seconds away from winning the west, and having a shot at the title. That's pretty fricking awesome.

While 10-2 is not bad by any means it doesn't get me excited. aTm and South Carolina were good wins but since when do we consier oursleves on their level? I mean most on this board if they were honest don't believe aTm is a premier program, nor do they have the caliber of athletes we have. The important ganes were lost this year plain and simple. Really both losses could be pinned on the coaching staff so to give them credit would be a bit generous. We did lose some players but we do every year. I would say Alexander and Turner are better players than the starters before them. Now Chris Faulk was a true loss at LT but Dwyorazck is no slouch (i know he's playing out of position). We also didn't have Oregon and West Viriginia on our schedule this year so you have to consider that. I'm just underwhelmed by the job this staff has done over the last 5 years with the level of talent coming in each year.

Like Peter Finney said that LSU must win every game and must win by 50-0 or the fans will not be happy!!!!

Only idiots that want to ignore the obvious issues that the team has (pointing out which is normal to do as a fan) say this.

very true.

but I think we all expected to beat teams like Ark, Ole Miss, and AU, based on where they thier records and where they finished. Bama was the big game, I'm not sure anyone saw aTm being that team, but they turned out to be and it wasn't realy till they beat Bama that they became that team. USCe is always a floater, but even they had ups and downs. FLA was a surprise this year, but I'm not so sure how good they realy are.

SEC is tough, no doubt, and it's even tougher when you get surpirse teams like aTm. don't forget half of my original post was about how we showed up flat against teams we clearly better than. As close as we came to 11-2 or 12-0, it could have easly been 8-4.

Most of us get what you are saying. You watch teams like Bama and Georgia pound some of these lesser SEC teams and wonder why shouldn't LSU do the same if they have all this talent? If it were just one team you could chalk it up to a bad day, but LSU consistently played too close to teams Bama and the likes destroyed, i.e, Auburn, MState, Ole Miss, Arkansas, and Towson. Makes you wonder just how talented the Tigers really are.

Nailed it. Can anybody deny anything in this statement? If you think you can, you better take off your tiger vision sunglasses and think again.

People who criticize the LSU Tiger football program from 2000-2012 either have a terrible memory or they missed their dosage of Prozac. remember curley-ball, Archer, Dinardo (when the 10-2 Peach Bowl win over Clemson was a 'lSU is back moment'). The man has coached 105 games and he has won 85 of them. Please, please go away or become a Tulane fan where you may obtain some relevance.

Win your bowl game, finish in the top 5. If that doesn't make you happy, you are irrational.

We played 4 top 10 teams and 2 top 5 teams

We beat 2 top 10 teams and lost to 2 top 5 teams

I'm not saying this is a great year, but if there is such thing as a good and bad 10-2, I don't see how this could be a bad one

Yes if you think finishing in the Top 5 in the country sucks, you need to have your head examined.

I'm very happy with the record. We beat a top 10 team, scratch that, top 5 team and the team that beat (seemingly the barometer of all of college football teams) in A&M.

Most of our fan base, at the least the majority that shows up on here, is spoiled. A 10-2 record in the SEC is damn good. Especially when you consider all the injuries we had this season, a new QB playing in his first college games.

I see a lot of joking with phrases like, "ESPN hates LSU, who/whatever hates LSU" but in the past two days, it sure seems like most LSU fans hate LSU.

Be glad we've got the record we do. And we're about to finish the season 11-2. I don't care who our opponent in the bowl game is.

What "quality wins" do the following teams have:

Oregon
Alabama
Florida
Georgia

just to name a few.
