Oregon was curb stomping opponents and they kept dropping. We let two mediocre teams take us to the wire in the last two weeks. It's probably deserving.

Well we've been less than impressive the last two weeks so we've earned the drop.

I thought it was "just win, baby". You mean how you win is also important?

AP is a joke.

Stanford has a loss to the team LSU beat 41-3.

True dat - the recent "eye test" showed we couldn't tell which way the top "E" was pointing.

Objectively, we have lost to two teams in the top five, and have played four of the top 11 teams in the nation.

Haven't researched it, but nobody, possibly other than Florida, can have a better SOS than that.

That means nothing compared the crappy way we look when playing push-overs.

this is maddening.

Who cares.

AP is going to give their title to Ohio state.

Its pretty easy. We win the Peach Bowl and finish in the Top 5.

Not bad considering the rash of injuries, mediocre QB play, penalties per game.

We have not played well since the Bama game. Lucky to win the last 2. # 9 is probably higher than we deserve right now.

it's just funny they jump Stanford 3 spots after beating a team who was literally playing for next week.

I don't have any research to back this up, but does it seem like LSU gets the ol' win-and-drop in the polls more than anyone else?

Wrong. Ohio State is SOLIDLY behind Notre Dame, Alabama, and Georgia.

They will jump the loser of the SEC Championship game but not the winner.

If Notre Dame were to win the national title they clearly wouldn't jump them.

If the SEC Winner were to beat Notre Dame (way more likely) they aren't getting leap frogged. They would have beaten 2 top 3 teams back to back games in championship settings, while OSU missed out on both championship games.

OSU will finish at best #2. I say at best because teams like Florida and Oregon should have a chance at leap frogging OSU with impressive BCS bowl victories.
