What bowl we are playing in? If its not the championship game or a bcs bowl who cares after that point.
I think some of you are literally going to lose sleep over this for the next week.
Haha
Seriously, if its Cotton, Cap 1, outback or CFA there really isn't much difference

It's about national perception

Cap 1, Cotton, and Outback tend to be favored higher because its a New Years Day bowl

New Years Eve bowls like the Chicken Bowl are usually reserved for the weaker/lower ranked teams

They're all the same to me. I'd be happy at this point with either one. I like Jerry World.........Orlando is a great city........and Atlanta is a great city. I had fun in the past at the Chik-Fil-A and the Cotton Bowl. I just want to see who our opponent will be at this point.

We're perceived as an elite program with a top ten team.

I guess I'm in the minority but I've enjoyed the CFA bowls in the past. The bowl was fun, the city was fun, having the game on new year's eve was fun. If you aren't in the Championship game it doesn't matter all that much. No one remembers numbers 2-25 after the season anyway.

Actually, Cotton Bowl is not a New Year's Day bowl, but probably is the top non-BCS bowl.

I'd rather go to the CFA bowl than the Outback Bowl. Too many other games being played at the same time. Plus a 11am kickoff after New Years Eve is not fun. Chick fil a is prime time and will probably be a better match up for LSU

It matters to recruits. If you don't think the nation's top 4 and 5 stars don't account for this, you're crazy. There is a huge difference between playing in the Chik-Fil-A Bowl and the Sugar Bowl in their minds.

Any bowl at night is more fun to watch than a game that starts at 11:00 am...or whenever the C1 and Outback start.

I'll state a little different opinion, in terms of which bowl and how it matters.

Name matters a little bit to me; "Cotton" is a traditionally bigger bowl than "Peach" (chick fil-a). as long as it's something reasonably familiar it's ok.

Visible appearance is big- we've been to 2 Cap One bowls. For some reason, the field looks drab, there are some heavy shadows... it LOOKS cheap. Between that and the early time, it doesn't thrill me a bunch. in comparison, the Cotton and Chick Fil-A, in NFL domes, LOOK good. Nice venues.

Time. Lots of people scream "it must be New Years Day bowl". Well, there are a ton of those bowl, and I like a night game, and I like the chance to be the only/main game on. Chick Fil-A and Cotton are nite, and on different days. If you're a fan in Denver and watch college football, you will watch Cotton or Chick Fil-A. It's what's on. In contrast, you may watch Cap One, Outback, or some other.

4 and 5 star guys think "I would've made the play in the Florida or Bama game, and they wouldn't have to worry about playing in the CFA."

If you think recruits really care where a team is put after bcs bowls then this board is even delusional than I though.
Hence I said, if its not the chamionship or a bcs game then it really doesn't make a big difference.

I don't care what bowl it is as long as we can win the damn game.
