Me either. No way in hell would that happen. He will sit out at least a year I would imagine.

I think the buyout doesn't get paid if he takes a new job. I would chill with the 7 million for a while. The title isn't too tarnished and could still take a job for 1 to 2 million a year somewhere down the road.

Does Trooper end up back at UT?

If the buyout is setup like most of them are, AU will only be responsible for the difference between what he makes per year and the buyout amount for that year.


If he just chills for a few years he's likely done for good. I don't see him coaching anywhere next year, but I'd imagine he will want to be somewhere by '14.

Sit a year for sure. A few have said he could likely get one of the schools in Florida. I think he'll be a DC before someone makes another HC offer.
