The fact that Jimmy Hyams said this makes me feel better about our chances of landing Gruden. Probably the least informed sports writer in all of Knoxville. He literally said the exact same thing about Kiffin two days before we hired him.

Hyams is full of shite, he is just trying to stir the pot for ratings

I hope you are right...I would like to see Chucky in the SEC

Hyams is your source for this, correct? Yeah that's almost as bad as posting a Bleacher Report article.

Using Jimmy Hyams as a source? Thread is worthless.

Nope. I just have no faith anymore.

What if Johns Adams said this! As a matter of fact what are Vol fans or anyone's opinion on John Adams.

I wanted to see Gruden go to Tennessee. I really wanted to see if Gruden would succeed in the SEC. I think Strong would recruit very well nationally and have UT playing good defense. His OC hire would make or break his staff. I just wonder if Gruden has been built up so much that it'll be a huge letdown if he doesn't go to Tennessee?

If Gruden does not go to Tennessee, the football program will have less energy than a homeless person funeral.
JMO.

That's what i was thinking volforever. If Gruden had no interest to be y'alls HC he should of never allowed there to be a frenzy over it by Vol fans. It's his wife's school. He should of nipped it in the bud. I thought his silence meant he was serious about taking the job. Tennessee is bigger than Chucky man. The right hire and Tennessee is right back. Chucky isn't make or break for y'alls program.

If Chaney would stay as OC if we got Stong as the HC I think we could be a solid team. Just my opinion.

Gruden to Tennessee is not going to happen.

What if you hired Nutt as HC and kept Sunseri as DC because that is a more realistic scenario.

yea the guys for the NFL game last night said Gruden was reaching out to coaches in the NFL should he go to the NFL not UTk

No, but the problem is too many people have put all their eggs in the Gruden basket. It's not as done as Jimmy Hyams claims it is (his sources are questionable -- as someone pointed out, he said we were not going to hire Kiffin two days before we did just that), but there is a crop of good coaches out there who can be had.
I would prefer Gary Patterson over pretty much anyone else.
