Yeah i think the SEC homers are putting too much into 6 teams in the top 12 and not talking as much about how bad the rest of the conference is this year.

THis is the worst I've seen the middle to bottom of the SEC be in a long while.

Don't know about all this "who's the better conference" smack but TCU is going to be a top tier Big 12 team as long as Patterson is around.

I would agree that in a couple of years TCU can consistently be a 2-3 loss BIG 12 team which could make them top tier. TO me the biggest issue with the BIG 12 now is that now going to 10 conferennce teams its gonna be very difficult to get a team in the NCG because of the round robin.

Compare that to the SEC where you have teams like UGA and Bama who haven't played the top 3 from the other division before the conference championship. I don't find it coincidental that those 2 are playing for the SEC title. I'm convinced that if you were to take the 4 worst teams out of the SEC and play a round robin no team in that conference would have less than 2 losses and likely would never get to a MNG.

Moo State is ranked in one poll, by default really.

Everyone is dissecting A&M's victories, but let's look at TCU's wins.

OOC wins against Grambling, UVA (4-7) and a nail bitter 6 pt win against lowly SMU (5-6) who was beaten badly by Baylor and A&M.

Conference wins against Kansas, Baylor, WVU and Texas. The only wins they have over teams headed to Bowl games are Texas and WVU. WVU has lost 5 in a row and we know how Texas has played this year.

They're not exactly world beaters, and needed a ton of help from Texas and WVU to pull off victories in those two games. To say TCU is going to challenge for the Big XII title next year is foolish, IMO.

Team 1: 9-2 record. Only losses were to the #9 team in the country and the #25 (AP) team in the country. Both teams they lost to have a combined record of 18-4.

Team 2: 8-3 record. Only losses were to the #4 team , #7 team, and #9 team in the country. All three teams they lost to have a combined record of 28-5.

Team 3: 8-3 record. Lost to #13 by 42 points, lost to a 5-5 team at home and a 7-4 team at home. Gave up 200+ rushing yards in the latter two games. Needed a bad call to beat #21.

Who is the ranked team out of those three?

TCU's record the last 6 years in the MWC:

11-2
13-0
12-1
11-2

11-1

TCU's record this year in the BIG 12

7-4. Coincidence??? I think not.

Ignorant post. They have the youngest team they've ever had under Patterson and one of the youngest in the nation and this was expected to be a rebuilding year, and that was before they lost 20 players off the three deep on both sides of the ball to injuries, grades, and whatever happened to Ed Wesley with family stuff\needing to go to the supplemental draft for financial reasons because of his mom's mounting health bills. They are playing with who would have been their 4th string RB.

All of that is also ignoring the fact that one of the losses came in OT to Iowa State, two days after our starting QB got kicked off the team and a freshman became the starter. At the very most, this team should only have 3 losses at this point and likely would have if Boykin had had more than 2 days to prepare to be the starter.

La Tech 0-2 vs ranked teams. That's why they are unranked

State also has lost to every ranked team they've faced. 0-3 vs ranked opponents.

only team on the list with an actual victory over a ranked opponent, but probably won't be ranked come Sunday after losing to TCU

You can throw out everything from that SMU game since it was played in a torrential downpour the entire game. No one could pass because no one could throw or see the ball when it was thrown.

Holders couldn't hold onto field goal snaps for both teams. It was an ugly game on both sides. I know because I had TCU -7.5 and under in a teaser that day.

And I think the Frogs will compete in the Big 12 next year and for years to come because they only lose one defensive starter and 2 offensive starters for next year, and the fact that 70% of the starters are freshman, that means 70% of the team's starters could still be in tact for the next 2-3 years. And that doesn't count the players they are getting back from grades and transfers.

This year even with a young squad they have been in every game until the end except Kansas State. And I think they end up winning all but the K-State game with Pachall at QB.

The Big 12 fans taking credit for A&M's success is embarrassing. The bottom line is that the SEC has routinely dispatched the Big 12 when the match ups have been remotely even. The SEC's #3 last year Arkansas dispatched the Big 12's #2 Kansas State with ease. Both Arkansas and Oklahoma State had identical struggles with Texas A&M last year before beating them last year. That same Arkansas team had its doors blown off by both Alabama and LSU. Last year's Arkansas equals last years Oklahoma State.

They'll still be ranked. You don't just drop a media darling from 16 to unranked after a close loss to an "upgrade". Plus, the computers like them for some reason.

TCU wasn't struggling in the Mountain West

They're not really struggling in the Big XII right now. It's a young team. Patterson always has his team playing great D, so once they get older it'll probably be the best D in the Big XII, which will create problems for the other teams. And they'll have the offense to win the Big XII, so I'm expecting a 10 win season for TCU in the next year or two.
