I read the rave reviews on rottentomatoes and heard about the incredible effects and decided to check it out. Huge mistake. One of the most boring movies I've ever endured. Started out slow and never picked up. I kept waiting and waiting and waiting for it to get better, and although there were a couple of cool moments, it was totally anticlimactic and fell flat, IMO. The lead character gave me no reason to like him or cheer for him; I actually would have preferred the story to end with the tiger turning on him. My advice to all is to save your $$ and watch it on DVD if you feel the need.

Damn good book, but you already know the ending, so it probably won't be very good for you.

The previews made this movie look like a freaking joke. Heck no to it.

I was curious about it simply based on the rave reviews. I usually agree with the opinions of guys like Roeper and Corliss but not this time. Too much unnecessary religious tie-ins, not enough drama or excitement or suspense. A lot of eye candy and that's about it. Pi's "girlfriend" in India played no role and there was no point in even including her. On a positive note, I will say that the CGI team did an excellent job with Richard Parker.

12 year old daughter asked to see it so we went. I had no expectations and was pleasantly surprised. I'm not turned off by religion or spiritual themes so that didn't bother me. I cared about the characters, even the animals, because they were portrayed with genuine feeling. My only issue was the CG looked fake sometimes.

I had my 14-year old daughter and 13-year old stepson with me, and neither of them cared for it, either. My daughter loved the animals, but that was about it. I had no problems with the religious themes, didn't bother me at all, just felt they were unnecessary.

The religious themes were kind of the whole point. I'm not going to criticize you for not liking it, different strokes and all.

Yeah, obviously I was in the minority as being someone who didn't care for it. Oh well, to each his own

Just saw it tonight and it was fantastic. The lead actor was great, not once did I think to myself "that looked wooden" or "no one would actually act like this in this situation." I'm not a religious person at all but i appreciated the depths and layers the movie had. Definitely a movie that you have to digest a little bit, if you came in expecting an action movie about a kid fighting a tiger you're going to be disappointed. Also wouldn't bring kids to it, it's rated PG and marketed as a kids movie but it isn't at all

I thought it was good for the type of movie it was. Not all movies are summer pop up action flicks. I thought it was about on par with cast away, except it was deeper. Also there wasn't a part as sad as the Wilson scene. Wilson was more like able than the Tiger
