1957 - when i was born. I have the same season tickets my Dad had since 1949. I remember thinking we were the only ones tailgating in the early '60's. I went to games as a very young boy but the first game that I definitely recall going to and remembering what game it was, probably because we traveled to the game out of town, was the 1966 cotton bowl. I recall having an LSU football uniform and running across my parents bed looking at myself in the dresser mirror and asking my sister if I looked like Joe Labruzzo. I remember Pat Screen and then Nelson Stokely. I had a number 14 jersey that wasn't even LSU colors - it was navy with white numbers and white stripes around the shoulders - that I wore until it was in tatters because it was Stokely's number.
I go pretty far back.
To answer the question, I guess around 1962 when I was 5 I started learning the players and following LSU football closely.

Nov 12, 2005 went to my first LSU game as a 6th Grader. LSU beat Bama in Tuscaloosa, in overtime. When Jamarcus Russel threw that last touchdown pass to Dwayne Bowe to end it, it rained Alabama hats and cups. It also was when I started hating Bama fans. I had to sit by a smelly drunk Alabama hick the entire game.

Baseball:

As long as I can remember....1994?

Used to sit around and listen with my stepdad to all the games like it was 1942 or something.

Football:

2000.

I was a Sophomore in high school and started to really look at what I wanted to do with my life, college choices, what I would follow etc.

I always kept up and would watch a games, but I really became a die hard fan that year. I never forget Rohan's performance in the Peach Bowl.

Not sure the exact year, but late '60s my 1st game was LSU vs Tulame and Tigers shut the hated Greenies out by 3 or 4 TDs.
I hated Joe Willie, so I rooted against the Jets.
I hated Notre Dame's coming out party at LSU's expense and their being on TV alot, while LSU was mostly all Fergie.
Hated Archie and didn't care about Saints forever it seemed because of him.
I recall that year was one of the few wins ever over Bama, who I hated more than all above combined. Geaux WDE in the Iron!

2001/2002. Whatever year they played Illinois. I remember being flabbergasted that LSU has an offensive linemen in Rohan Davie playing qb.

Got a Bert Jones jersey in 1971-1972. Always looked at my parents LSU yearbook from 1958 national championship. Never dreamed I would be at NC game in 2003.

+1
Prior to that I was a Tulane fan. Actually won $5 off of one of my dads friends that played for LSU when Tulane won 48 to not enough in 80.

I saw high school games in 1955 when Robinson Cannon and Rabb were playing. That was my freshman year at LSU. We got 4 season tickets in 1958. Still have two of them. Never moved. Never wanted to. Don't go often nowdays. If you compare - where we are now is "The Good Old Days"
If you want to fuss about Coach Miles you can. I do myself, since I'm perfect. But the man is the best we've ever had. Dietzel left, Saban left. Coach Mac loved LSU and did well but, the failure to beat the bear did him in. Compare Coach Miles to any of them - he's been the best. Those of you who were following in the 70s 80s and 90s know how good it is now. Those who stayed loyal and paid for tickets all those sad years when we were clearly mediocre can attest how good it is now.

It was in the late 50's. There was many tv channels to watch as there is today so you either listened on the radio or went to the game if you were lucky. I lived in Shreveport then and remember Dad taking me to a stadium at the fairgrounds to watch the Tigers. I remember it poured down rain before the game started and we hid under the stands. Dad was big in the boy scouts then and a guy he knew put us in some seats by the LSU bench. Someone with a better memory than mine might know who we played. We did when the game and just as the game ended he lowered me to the field and I got to tell BC "good game".
