ESPN will be the television home for the college football playoff that begins after the 2014 season, thanks to a 12-year deal announced on Wednesday.
The deal covers the national championship game and semifinals as well as bowl games that will be part of the semifinal hosting rotation in years they don't host a semifinal game. Earlier, ESPN announced deals with the Rose, Sugar and Orange Bowls.
The deal goes through the 2025 regular season (2026 bowl games).

This kills any improvement expectation over the current system...with more agenda...ESPN talking heads telling us who should play for the title during the final weekends...ESPN's record deal with the SEC.
It's impossible really though...to get a network w/o a financial incentive as to who the participants are.
If Fox has the Pac 12 and the SEC has ESPN...and the Big 10 is trying to do its own thing...and more down the road? Which teams are going to pushed in the ESPN dominated media for the playoff. Not holding breath.

ESPN will love LSU in the playoff.

Nice, so their plan to blow up the BCS and then take the added games by creating such an unsavory matchup that included a second place team in their own division in a rematch against the team they lost to at home over the conference champion of the statistically best league work out?

Yeah, nice playoff that's still controlled by corrupt computers and agenda driven voters who vote for teams that don't win their own division. And now, we get even more agendas and corruption in the "selection" of the top 4.
