Here's a list of some guys who I think who could get a shot at a big school in the next 3-5 years if they keep having success. Any additions, subtractions, thoughts?

Gary Anderson - 5 seasons as Utah DC, 4th season as HC at utah state with record of 24-24, but is 9-2 this year
Kyle Flood - 6 seasons as OL coach with Rutgers, first seasons as HC at Rutgers with 9-1 record
Darrell Hazell - 6 seasons as Ohio St. WR/arse HC, 2nd year as HC at Kent St with 15-8 record, 10-1 this season
Sonny Dykes - 3 seasons as OC/QB coach at Arizona, 3rd season at La Tech with record of 22-14, 9-2 this season
Charlie Strong - 8 seasons as DC, interim HC, co-DC, 3rd season at Louisville with record of 23-13, 9-1 this season
Mike MacIntyre - 2 seasons as Duke DC, 3rd season as HC at San Jose St with record of 15-21, 9-2 record this year
Tim DeRuyter - 2 seasons as Texas A&M DC, 1st season as HC at Fresno State with record of 8-3
Rocky Long - 3 seasons as San Diego State DC, 2nd season as HC at San Diego State with record of 16-8, 8-3 record this year
Gus Malzahn - 3 years as Auburn OC, 1st season as HC at Arkansas State with record of 8-3
Butch Jones - 3 years as HC at Central Michigan with record of 27-13, 3rd season as HC at Cincinatti with record of 21-14

You should add WKU's Taggart to that list. He's going to end up somewhere soon enough IMO.

Done. He's going to need at least an 8 win season to break through, IMO. If they beat N. Texas and win a bowl game, his resume will look much better. Or, he can just continue the success and improve a little bit next year. That said, he's a former player, so he might be content just staying at WKU forever if he can have a little bit of success.
