Did anyone listen to Hawthorne's call of OM game?

He missed the actual result of plays at least 5-6 times ( incomplete when it was not, short of the first down, etc) and miscalled names another 8-10 times. Either his spotters are horrible or he is making a call without a good look. I even think he embarrassed Doug a couple times by missing the play so horribly.
It's time for a change!

Well this is new.
In other news, I thought Borne was off during the game. Several mistakes were made.

How old is Jim? I like Jim but sooner or later, and it seems like sooner, age is going to affect him to the point where he will be no longer able to do that job.

Remain calm. So what if he makes mistakes? Everyone does. Jim should retire when Jim wants to retire. He's earned it.

LSU deserves better.

I listed to the radio broadcast while at the game.
Hawthorne was no worse or better than usual.

I really think his eye sight has deteriorated drastically. That's the only explanation I can think of him missing players names and numbers like he does.

LSU could have Jim Henderson and y'all would still bitch.

Have any if y'all actually listened to any if the other broadcasters in the sec? Jim is great compared to most of them.

That's going a little too far.
The Solid Verbal podcast was talking about how the LSU announcer wouldn't even describe what was happening on the field. He would just say something like "...and he threw an interception."
I laughed because that's exactly how Jim calls a game.

This is what I was getting at. I think it's going. But I think Jim can stay around for as long as he pleases. He will always be the voice of the Tigers to me.
And God knows, we may have to deal with Moscona if Hawthorne leaves.

I would much rather have Hawthorne over Jim Henderson. I don't think he's all that good.

You need to go listen to some other schools' announcers and then see if Hawthorne is so bad. All announcers miss calls. Even TV. Stop being a bitch.

I sit in my seat in Tiger Stadium with one mic in one ear and listen to Hawthorne, Moreau and Rush. When the crowd is going crazy I pull the mic out to experience the stadium.
Here's the thing for me. My seat is in the curve in the south end zone so I have don't have the best depth perception in a game. When I come back and watch a replay of the game I see a different game. So, Hawthorne lets me know if we gained five, eight or whatever. Most plays under 8 yards yards look the same for me. I can't tell if we gained 2 or 8. I don't care that Hawthorne makes mistakes. If I see 80 catch the ball and hear him call out another name it doesn't bother me that he screwed that up. I am not listening to him for expert play by play.
I also listen to hear Moreau's commentary. While he is not Gruden, the insights he give add to the game experience for me. Gordy Rush gives sideline information, but I really love it when he gives color analysis as well.
Combine all of that and I am satisfied.

In a two hour game he makes 8-10 mistakes? I'd make that many talking for 2 minutes. And its not like he is standing on the sidelines, he is 200 feet away and high in the stands. I dont understand how they do as good as they do.

Jim hasn't earned jack shite except his pay checks! He should be judged on merit alone, and when someone is found with more merit, Jim should be replaced. BTW, I can look out my window and see a dozen who are likely to have more merit...and they're cutting grass on the canal banks.

I actually love listening to Hawthorne. He gets so excited when LSU scores.
When he messes up I just laugh.
Why don't you retire from starting threads....
