Great question. I absolutely love both. I think Goodbye Yellow Brick Road has the edge in my book.

I'd give the edge to Elton. The title track alone makes Goodbye Yellow Brick Road better than The Stranger.

I prefer Elton as an artist, but you found my weak spot on Billy Joel. I friggin' LOVE The Stranger. It's a great, great album. One of the best breakup albums ever recorded.

I gotta go with The Stranger. Sorry, Elton.

I love "The Stranger" too, but "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road" is an all-time classic.

One of my 10 Desert Island Discs.

Billy Joel is I guess my guilty pleasure and The Stranger is his best album. But Funeral for a Friend alone gives this one to Goodbye Yellowbrick Road

So true; funny thing, the homo's career seemed to go down when he finally came out of the closet.

I remember back in the early 70's, that Billy Joel arse had the nerve to call himself "the Jimi Hendrix of the keyboards"...unbelievable statement from a moron!
