I figure if Fla. State beats Fla. and we beat Ark. we are in one of the BCS bowls no matter what. We should jump ahead of the loser in SEC championship game. I'm sure it's Germans but is this correct?

To take it 1 step further (assuming above happens) if Oregon stumbles again and KState loses again + ND loses could we be sitting in #2 position - assuming 1 loss Fla. State doesn't slip past us?

A lot of upsets have to happen like 2007 but the pressure of these teams trying to get into the mythical BCS championship game is surreal. Stranger things have happened..... Geaux Tigers!

This would be the perfect scenario for FSU, No?

BCSCG unlikely for LSU...Best hope is for Auburn to beat Bama, LSU to win SECCG over #2 Georgia, and hope for total chaos (Oregon lose to OregonST or UCLA, KState lose to Texas, Florida State beats Florida but loses ACCCG)

Even then it's dicey, but that's how you open the door for LSU and probably end up with an LSU-Notre Dame title game. The two crazy things IMO that are unlikely are Auburn beating Bama and FloridaSt losing ACCCG....actually all the other things besides those two have a decent shot of happening.

All that said, in regards to the BCS, yes....If FSU beats Florida, LSU is going to the Sugar Bowl to play OU or Texas.

Who would the Sugar invite if OU and Texas both lose? I can easily see Ok St beating OU and Kansas St beating Texas.....

Clemson is the other possible Sugar pick if that were to happen (after Fiesta snags Oregon).

Were michigan and VT not two jokes getting into last year's sugar bowl? If the BCS bowls have proved anything, it's that it'll go after brand names and fan bases before anything else. K State got the bone with this example last year. if they lose to UT I think there's a good chance it could happen again

This is not dicey at all. LSU would be in for certain. You wouldn't even need FSU to lose because to think they'd jump that much is ridiculous.

A better possibility is Oregon loss, K St loss, Florida loss, ND loss. This puts us potentially at number 3 and Bama beating Georgia puts us in a rematch. The only issue is whether voters would put LSU in over 1-loss ND which is dicey, but maybe the argument from last year would work. Quality loss, top two teams, etc.

Not to change the subject but...

Wait, what?

Phil Bennett is the defensive coordinator for a Baylor Bears team that finally put together a perfect game to beat then-No. 1 Kansas State, 52-24.

Baylor is now 2-5 in the Big 12, a very good conference, loaded with offensive firepower. Is it better than the SEC?

Bennett, whose defense has spent much of the season ranked 124th — dead last — seems to think the Big 12 is better than the SEC:

“Alabama, LSU, any SEC team, we would have beat them tonight … That’s why Texas A&M is doing well in that league,” Bennett said of the SEC. “[Those teams,SEC] don’t face anything like us.”

But shouldn’t Bennett, know that it is defense that wins championships?
