Ok - here is the situation:

A substantial bayou runs through a WMA I usually bowhunt. On Saturday, ducks were piling into it with reckless abandon presumably due to pressure from surrounding waters. It is faily difficult to access by boat (closest launch is 7 miles away - 2 miles down bayou to another bayou then 5 miles up that bayou).

Here is the dilemma: I can hunt from the banks of the bayou and probably kill a fair number of ducks, but I don't have a boat or a dog to retrieve ducks with. Anyone have some suggestions?

Pack an inflatable boat, like one you would bring to the beach and blow it up once out there.

I should mention, it is a good haul back to where I would be duck hunting without an ATV trail. Maybe carrying a pirogue in?

This would be your best option. How's the current? If you shoot can you leave them on the water until you're ready to pick up? If not just spray paint the inflatable boat.

Ive done this with a rod and reel. all you have to do is get the line over the duck. Where I did it, it was a bayou only 30 ft wide so it was easy to get them. Much wider and you would have to be a hell of a shot with the line.

Get yourself a cheap remote control boat and fashion some type of push on the front.

Run it out there.

Push ducks to bank.

????????

Profit????

That is what I was thinking, but it is going to be tough to drag a boat any distance...
