SEC needs to go get FSU/Clemson.

Just like the apparent Maryland/Rutgers swoop we are watching, the SEC would follow the TAMU/Mizzou script to add new markets for the TV deals and SEC Network plans. So FSU maybe (expect UF to form a voting firewall against that one) but not Clemson. But more likely, Slive targets new territory West (OU/OSU) or surely East (a Virginia team and a NC team).

here is my Q: all the current members of the B1G will have to approve of adding an more schools to the conference, right?

There's no way you even start negotiating without everyone on board already

Obviously this had already been done or none of this wouldve leaked.

just no, that is not how it works...

first the school approves and then the conference votes.

It has been reported that the Big10 also wants UVa and/or UNC.

Question for you, Hokie....do you want UVa to go Big Ten so that VT can then be able to escape to the SEC?

If it was up to me, I would love to be in the SEC. It is the best conference in the country and will only get stronger as more and more people migrate to the South.

But I do not have faith in administration to make the move, but you never know.

Yes, we would have a big learning curve in the SEC, but I think eventually we would compete.

I would think an "informal" vote has been done a long time ago.

Fascinating....IF the Big Ten is eying 16 teams and wants any 3 of GT, UVa, UNC and Rutgers, the SEC swoops in to get to 16 with VT and NC State.

Only problem here is, the North Carolina schools would have to turn on each other (really, UNC would have to punk Duke) for this to happen.

If UVa went to B1G, there would be no move for a football school like VT other than to go to the SEC. And of course, there would be no political block in VA to stop you at that point.

Hate the move and hate the way college football is trying to have all of these super conferences.

If TAMU can adjust and Mizzou is trying to adjust, VT will be just fine in SEC, A great natural rivaly in TAMU.

I know B1G isnt done yet, I think they will be going after GA Tech (Atlanta Market) or NC.

Ugh, this sucks. Regionalism makes college football special, and it's being thrown away.

And this makes no sense seeing as how the B1G was too good for Mizzou 2 years ago. Now they're ok with Maryland? Ridiculous.

possibly. they still need to get 80% of the current conference members to approve (9 of 12); which could just be a formality at this point, idk.

Bingo...If Rutgers is #14 for the B1G, then it seems GT eventually is #15. I have a hunch UVa ends up #16 while the basketball North Carolina cartel holds firm. That could leave the SEC in a bit of bother with adding #16 after VT becomes #15 though.

I would love to see them shove that up Delany's arse. Not one B1G fan wants this. 12 with Corn in the conference was perfect.

I think they like the fact that Maryland is a great academic university.
