Let me start by saying, I hate rematches. It puts the winner of the first at a big disadvantage, especially when it comes to revenge. That being said, Catholic has a really good chance to move on to the semi-finals here. Anybody got the scoop on the Skippers?

both have gotten A LOT better since then.... the skippers were probably a little more distracted and disheveled by isaac..

I had catholic advancing past central.... but..that was on the same premise you mentioned.....

Mandeville's QB is a lot like Cam Newton (the college Cam Newton). He can really take over a game. He's big, fast, and has a great arm. Will be tough to slow him down.

Any colleges looking at him yet? Is he a senior?

He is a junior. I've got to believe that he will be a D1 recruit.

Damn I haven't been to a Mandeville game in over 2 years. I'm going to have to go to this one.

And they went at least this deep last year. Who did they lose to last year?

Mandeville's QB is black not white. He is a good player. Not great throwing mechanics but good enough to beat you throwing the ball.

Their defense will give up yardage but is very sound. I don't know about giving up big plays because Central never tested their defense with the deep ball last week.

Should be a good game.

It's amazing how Lecompte turned the program around. Mandeville was not very good before he got there and now they consistently go deep in the playoffs. He just has the ability to get the best out of his players.

2006 - first round exit
2007 - quarterfinals exit
2008 - second round exit
2009 - first round exit
2010 - first round exit
2011 - semifinals exit

He's got them consistently in the playoffs, but up until recently, they haven't really made much of an impact in the playoffs (other than 2007). But, he's definitely turned the program around and has them going in the right direction. There were a lot of question marks facing them this season because of the loss of several impact players from last year's semi-finalist team.. but needless to say, he's done a heck of a job replacing them and picking up right where they left off.

Next year should be the end of the temporary reign of St. Paul's as district champs.

Is that Winget? I'm pretty good friends with his older brother, so I'll have to ask him. I really wonder how he's not gotten more attention from recruiters, btw.
