The way we turned the ball over in that game still makes me want to

naw, the 2006 Ole Miss game. we played like dog shite in that game, even though i got to witness my boy jamarcus doing a double spin move then complete a 50 yard bomb

that was just a weird night. senior night, so keiland didn't start. we came out in a funk and then ole scared les played it super safe and kept it close and blah blah blah. one of the weirdest experiences in TS i've ever had

they were 1-6 in the SEC in 2006 and 2-5 this year. 1 SEC game difference

they played a much tougher OOC schedule in 2006

LSU has one unbelievably dominant win over a BCS team who isn't too horrible

Washington is total dogshit on the road. Talk about bi-polar. That bunch definitely gives LSU a run for its money. Beat Stanford, and OSU at home. Hang with USC at home. Get absolutely RAILED by LSU, UO, and Arizona on the road. They also damn near lost to Cal, who is probably worse than Auburn.

The "Real" games are a decent bit like LSU 2006, though they haven't beaten the snot out of the UK's of the world like they did that year.

I really think a lot of it has been that for better or worse, the LSU 2012 season was a 1 game season from Jan. 10 on. Nobody who's being honest with themselves can really admit otherwise. It's produced some goofy results.

Also a shocking and distrubing habit of giving up TDs in the last 3 minutes of games cost 1 game, and made the USC, and aTm games look less convincing than they really were.

This thread has turned into any typical SFP JRuss/ LSU 2006 fap session. Dude just can't let it go...

QB made his first SEC road start vs Auburn.

3/5 of starting offensive line gone. 1/5 injured with a back issue.

And yet, we are 9-2.

2006 LSU dominated the frick out of its shite teams

it lost to 2, top-10 teams (including the #1 team) on the road

Well your right about one thing they are different. They are however different because the 06 team with so much talent underachieved in a much weaker SEC. The 2012 team is without 16 of its starters from their base offense and defense from a year ago due the NFL, injuries, and suspensions. The 2012 team overachieved with a much tougher schedule.
The SEC in 06 and 07 were the last two years before we became the one dominant conference. Sure we had two dominant wins against 1-7 MSU and UK (UL put 59 on them that year) but that's it. In 06 what was our best win? Was it when we squeaked by 15th ranked Arkansas that went 10-4 and 7-1 in the SEC West but got beat by a two loss USC team 50-14? What was our next best win during the regular season? Was it beating UT on the last second pass when they finished #25? The UW and MSU wins this year are way better than any regular season wins outside of four loss Arkansas that year.

If you want to talk about a strange team it was the 07 team. They kill Va Tech who I believe was 3 or 4 in the BCS after the regular season and beat OSU by two Touchdowns in the BCSNCG. However the only other team that did not lose four games that year in the SEC was UGA who we did not play. So we did not beat a team with less than four defeats in the SEC. We were losing to UF by 10 to start the 4th, was losing to AU with seconds left, and we were down by a TD to Bama with 3 minutes left. We were lucky to win those games against teams that combined for 14 losses. Then we got beat by a 3-5 in the sec UK team, and a five loss 4-4 in sec Arkansas team. The 07 team goes 4-4 in the SEC playing the same schedule we played this year, and that's if they don't lose to teams they should have beat like they did that year.

We play up and down to our opponents. UW just didn't have the horses to play against our type of athletes.

I'll also say, I'm pretty impressed with Ole Miss's new coach. I mean if you really watched the game that was the only team all season that out played us. Of coarse we won because of the mistakes we forced them into, but they really did out play us IMO. They will be good if he can get any talent to go there.

The 2011 team would have beaten both our recent National Title teams IMO.

And how would the 2012 secondary of the last two weeks do against Flynn?

Yea on paper from an NFL talent stand point the 07 defense was less talented than even 08 especially after Dorsey got injured. Dorsey and Jackson are the only two that started in the NFL from that defense. Both have not lived up to their draft expectations to say the least. Steltz is the only other starter in 07 currently even on a NFL roster. Chevis was drafted and Taylor was drafted in the 7th round are no longer around.
There are four of the 08 starters that start in the NFL. Also RJF and McCray who started that year are backups on rosters.

Somehow 2012 still has better pass D stats then we did in 2010 with Peterson and Mo at cb....

Better in yards per attempt and yard per completion in both SEC and OOC play this year than 2010.
