Nucky was asking someone to help him, asking them what they wanted from him to do so. He's already asked everyone else he knows for help and been turned down, Harrow is about the only one left.

I'm guessing its Chaulky that Nucky was talking to and Nucky offers the club as payment

I thought it was pretty good episode. Still hate Margaret and all the screen time she gets. I'm hoping Nucky does something now that he saw her reaction to Owen.

They also seem to be spending an awful lot of time on the Harrow love story lines. In this show, that can't be a good thing. Curious how it plays out.

I'm hoping that they come to an agreement before Chalky can go to Gyp. I know they have their disagreements, but I like seeing Chalky and Nucky on the same side.

Harrow is going to kill someone and his chick is going to find out and leave him. Hey, at least he got laid.

I'm thinking that something happens with Harrow and his woman that drives Harrow to go off the deep end and just start tearing arse. Just a "frick it" moment where he goes full on gun for hire.

I freaking love Arnold Rothstein. Because Lansky and Lucky turned to Joe for the deal, it's going to push Rothstein to join back up with Nucky.

No doubt. AR is the ultimate boss. Fantastic.

Either Harrow's slam piece or Jimmy's son is going to get killed. Something has got to throw him off the maniacal ledge again. He already wants to kill her dad, so I think drunk dad harms daughter or the kid.

Margaret lost her feminist club and her side piece in one episode. So we can kill her off now, right?

You're crazy if you consider this show "shitty writing". This is one of, if not the best, series HBO has ever done.

the writing is excellent. if you read these threads every week you'll notice a common complaint, and that is the time spent on margarett. she isn't liked or needed in the show yet gets 30% or more of the screen time. She's not really even involved in any of the organized crime. She's just there to be whiney and needy.

I agree, Margaret is awful.. Hopefully she's gone after the Owen incident.

I wish gyp would get her arse with the shovel

After what Gyp did to his boy's cousin in front of his men, it might be mutiny that does him in.I mean it was fricked up to leave him for the tide, another to act like it's all good then beat him to death with a shovel.

why did he do it? I fell asleep for about 10 minutes during the show so I missed whatever his cousin did to piss gyp off.

I agree though, somehow nucky gets an inside track to Gyp because of this.

Definitely. Capone can carry a series by himself. So much to work with right now, with his coming of age, his family story, etc. My favorite character.

The cousin might just be the guy that drops a dime to Nucky about Gyp. Whacking that guy like that was way over the top, then telling him, "You owe me" is ruthless.

I like Rothstein. His demeanor and his consistency of how he thinks every move through is smooth. He is a great partner for Nucky. That's why I was surprised he walked away from Nucky when he asked for his support. I think he will be back by Nucky's side before long.

He did the one thing that will make Gyp kill you, and he did it twice. He made Gyp look "ignorant".

Ruthless? Sure, but also so sociopathic that he thinks he did the guy a solid by whacking his cousin with a shovel instead of letting him drown.

this, and he did it in front of all his men also, making it even more embarrassing for Gyp.

But will someone clear up for me why Lucky and Lansky's deal they made with Joe will send AR back to Nucky's side again?

If I recall, Lansky and Lucky mentioned that Rothstein wanted no part of the heroin trade. Which is what they're wanting to run through Joe. I don't know that Rothstein knows that they went to Joe over the heroin so he may be extremely put off by that.

I don't think he does either. But does Lansky and Lucky leave Rothstein after this? Hence, Rothstein back on Nucky's side to get even with those two.

If this were the case, I'd be interested to see how the Lansky/Joe relationship works out.

I find Lansky a smug know-it-all.
