ND schedule, not SEC caliber, but harder than I thought

They have wins over 4 teams who were top 20 at the time of the game.

Their Stanford win looks good now.

I think they might lay an egg against SC.

Would we jump them with 1 loss?

Nope

One-loss UGA/Bama
One-loss UF/FSU
One-loss ND
One-loss KState
One-loss ND

will be ahead of two-loss LSU

I agree. I was looking at this the other day. Definitely not a Boise St. type schedule. They've played some tough teams.

they're already behind us... Eta: in the coaches poll. Possibly the BCS if the computers help.

I still believe Stanford scored the go ahead touchdown.

Well it didn't count so Stanford didn't.

They did. They got robbed in that game.

And don't forget the powerhouse of Pitt that went toe to toe with ND so they had to go into 3 overtimes to beat them by 3. The same Pitt team that got smoked by UConn the following week.

They did beat OU convincingly, I'll give them that.

That said, ND has been walking that tightrope of dropping a game all season. They lose to USC, they could drop far a la Kansas State. USC will be unranked next week.

And they will get a Barkley-less USC.
Mich State - 5 losses likely
USC- same
OKLA - looking a 4 losses
Stanford - amazing how the final game on that play has not gotten more attention. Guess because Stanford does not have the frenzied fan base to push the issue.

Not defending ND, but outside of LSU's schedule (Bama, ATM, USCe, FL), the other top SEC teams have had it pretty easy.

Go back and look at Alabama, Georgia, and Florida's schedules, only FL had two tough games, if you count Johnny Football's first college game ever.

Updated Sagarin ratings. We are 22 in SOS. Of course, the crappier the team, the more impressive their schedule will be since they will likely not have contributed a loss to that team. Do stats take this into account?

they don't play any lower divsion teams ever, neither Sun Belt or MAC. The only reason Navy is on there, is due to some WWII arrangement. Imagine if that was a DIV I team instead of Towson St. the way we played that day.

Did you see the Bama and Miss. State games? Even yesterday's game?

The beginning of the season, absolutely we were struggling on offense.

I'd say we're doing really well on offense. If you mean "light it up" like a West Virginia or some other air raid team, that won't happen here.

I'm glad we're where we're at, but if we could score once in the red zone, I think we'd be 11-0 and #1.

If they were to play any other team in the top 10, they would get crushed. It's sad they might get into the NC game playing that schedule. As ND they can still make a lot of cash with their NBC contract and stay out of any conference alliance that would give them any competition.

And screw that AP for putting OSU I the top 5 being on probation and playing in that dumpster fire of a conference where Michigan, Penn State, Wisconsin suck arse.
