Another big WR...

Must mean we're out with RSJ and Baker likely won't make it.

What does a 1 and done recruit have to do with baker, a definite redshirt?

Hope Gardner makes it but not looking too promising according to previous Tulsa newspaper article.

wut?

I didn't say that. Baker likely won't make it to LSU academically. He's a big question mark right now. RSJ has been leaning to TAMU, at least, that's what most think but he hasn't said one way or the other.

Gardner is a guy who seems to only care about the NFL. He's huge(almost 230lbs) and fast. He even said he wasn't going to attend OU and go directly to NFL...

If he has any kind of success here, he's one and done, IMO. We're probably taking him because we need another WR and we'll lose out on Baker/RSJ. And if Baker goes JUCO, LSU can't touch him for at least two years.

Gardner is an absolute beast.

However, he likely never makes it to LSU. He will need the same academic support that Bama got Lacy to get qualified.

This. shite I failed close to 20 classes in high school and 6 years later I'm almost finished with my MBA. All he has to do is work hard on his schoolwork and he'll make it. There is plenty of online or correspondence classes he can take. He's going to need

As one of his former coaches said, he reminds me of Terrell Owens...both on and off the field.

Imo Gardner is a bonus take. With the way things currently stand the staff can reassure Leslie that he is the priority as a big JC wr and that he's the only assured guy to get in. Basically this shouldn't cause any waves with Leslie. The kicker is that Leslie has to enroll in January. If he fails to do so I'd expect that he will be hard to hold on to unless the staff moves away from Gardner. In that scenario, I say take Leslie and move on. Leslie is in no real danger of not getting in, just the danger of not enrolling early. We have to have at least 1 big, ready to play wr in the program and if the scenario breaks down to where both enroll in the summer then Leslie is the surest bet. If both can be manuevered then great.

Back to how Gardner is a bonus, assuming Leslie is in, Gardner is a guy that doesn't hold up the class nor cause waves in the class. If he makes it then great for us but if he doesn't then nothing lost and we have Leslie to play that role. The spot for Gardner just moves to the loaded '14 class.

Here's to hoping things work out perfectly and Leslie enters in January with Gardner flanking him by enrolling in the summer.
