So why the love? Why would they be a high ranked 1 loss?

Their best win is against USC. They very well may not win their conference. They shouldn't be ranked ahead of Kstate or UF or Fla St.

But their offense is fast.

No need to worry about them. If Stanford wins next week, no champ game for Oregon and they are irrelevant.

Other interesting facts:

ND is only team to play and beat (3) top 10 teams.

Alabama has only played 1 top 10 team (and they won).

Whenever they play top defenses, bad things tend to happen. When will people learn that pyrotechnic offenses do not win championships?

I've been saying it for a while - ND has the best resume of anyone, even if some teams have not turned out to be as good as expected. Through 11 games, ND has been consistently the best team through a much tougher schedule than most top teams have played. That said, there is still one more game to play.

Rankings when you play mean nothing.

Current rankings are what matter.

Eta: apparently you used that. ND hasn't played three top 10 teams which is what confused me.

Stanford, OU, and?????

ANd if you go by rankings when they played it is still two. OU was 8 and MSU was 10. Stanford was 17 when they played.

Should be awesome when you beat #1 USC next week.

Stanford (14) and Oklahoma (8) are the only team ND has beaten that are currently in the Top 15. Stanford was BS... and Oklahoma, well...

Enjoy your week at the top.

I think he's trying to count Michigan State, which has fallen off the planet.

If you've watched them play you'd know that resume is much like George O'Leary's.

Claiming a win over Michigan St as a top 10 win means there's absolutely no reason to continue a discussion with you. I don't claim Michigan as a top 10 win for Bama...

So would most agree that SECCG and UF/FSU are semi-finals if Notre Dame loses?

FSU's schedule is so terrible that the computers will keep them out. I'd put other 1 loss teams ahead of them.
