Seems like you understood him enough to berate him in this thread.

He told the reporters (read between the lines) that "I, as the head coach, won't tolerate comments or insinuations that a player(s) of mine are 'flops.' "

I'm glad he did it.

That's your reasoning?

He was obviously trying to suppress rage. He was pissed at a reporter for crapping on an otherwise special day for R. Shepard. In his rage, he realized he was detracting the positive attention that should have gone to his seniors on their night. I don't fault him one bit for rambling a bit.

This!

When he said freaking I thought he was so close to slipping on it.. Then he went ahead and said it next. He was legitimately pissed off. He defended his player.

How does that transfer to "lost his mind"?

The man was defending a good kid who plays for him. He even was man enough to call himself a flop. That's a manly arse move.

You can stand up for your players without looking like an absolute clown.

His tone was melodramatic and theatrical. His voice hit numerous inflections.

If you've been flummoxed as to why LSU receives zero respect from ESPN and the media, you now have your answer.

There are scumbag coaches who throw their players under the bus. I think back to the carolina game where Spurrier mocked his QB's decision making.. what makes me happy to have Les as our coach is that he is a man of integrity and character and it's a unique feeling to have that in the college football top 10 landscape. We are lucky.

This is a story that should be a non-story.

Same way with the way ESPN dramatized John L. Smith's smile statement. That sure backfired when they found out his brother had just passed away.

Football at the end of the day is just a game. Les Miles defended the player as a person. Some LSU fans are starting to amaze me.

Sam Montgomery on Twitter said something positive about Texas A&M. So Sonic Sam posts "Got to follow some Aggies" because a lot of them came in support of him.

An LSU fan actually got on and stated this.. "go play for em then. should be focused on Ole miss and holding it down for LSU!!!"

Sam's reply " smh football is temporary people are forever you'd do best to remember that people brought me into this world not entertainment"

Never seen truer words by a athlete.

Yeah, why do we need ESPN's respect? They only implicitly control the voters' actions.

No big deal.

I just watched Bill Snyder say his team losing was his fault and remembered that the coach that lost last week to Texas A&M said his players were told what to do and didn't do it.
Give me the CLM's and Snyders of the profession.
