T Wilcox(if never got hurt would have played in NFL for a long time),
My teammate!!! Played in the USFL, signed with the Cowboys, but had the neck injury. Pretty big deal to be one of Coach Bryant's pallbearers, too.
I would have to add to your list, Marc Ippolito, Garry James, Roymon Malcolm, Toby Caston, Tyrone Vaughns, Louis Lipps.

Yeah.. GJ was more hyped than DH Ippolito.. meh...

ROYMON Malcom.. forgot about him.... Caston too..

lipps.. meh.. wasn't that big of recruit...

TV... well... he was the most hyped sophomore in lA history..

but - he never really got better between soph and sr years... good guy... Boo... but classic case of way too much hype.. far too early

Well, I guess I went off track a little. I was talking more just great players I saw or played against. You're right, Lipps wasn't highly recruited, but was a heckuva player, as was proven by his Pro career. Marc was VERY highly recruited, though. Bear Bryant didn't make many recruiting trips to NOLA, but I can remember him coming to see Marc and him telling Bryant, no thanks. He was a 6'4 220lb MLB, which was huge at the time. (Kept getting huge and wound up on the DL at LSU).
Can't forget John Fourcade, either. Much hyped, very good HS player.

Don't think Vaughns even finished at Tulane.
Who was your teammate?

Yeah well so did all those other guys too. Some panned out and some didn't. Actually, most of the highly touted guys from LA don't pan out for some reason.

Not in my book. I was talking about guys I saw.
Not a fan of theirs anyway. They don't give a rats arse about Louisiana. Never did.

I just hope if he commits to LSU we're not setting the young man up for failure. At this point anything short of 3 Heismans will be a disappointment to some. I'm really excited, and can't wait to see what he will do on Saturdays in the fall.

I doubt anyone seriously expects him to win more than 2.

My expectations are for LF to put the team on his back about 2X a year, for 3 years. I think that's realistic. Saw Hill do it a couple of times. Magee has done it too. Other than that, put the fear of football gods in our opponents every play he's on the field. Not too much to ask either. Easy as pie for LF.

The excitement over LF reminds me of what it was like recruiting Randy Livingston, who was a star basketball player from as young as 10 in NOLA. Just pray the same misfortune never happens to Leonard.

Didn't read the entire thread, but I'm not sure I saw the names of Brad Davis and Mike Miley mentioned, especially Miley. A great prospect in either football or baseball, kind of like Josh Booty.

LF is an incredible natural athlete and could potentially be the best. I know he has been called more than once the best RB to come out of the high school ranks since Adrian Peterson.
