Send that shite to me. I'll fence the items and we will split the profits.

Another example. An item arrived for this new area of KAF. I'm not sure what this item cost but I can make a reasonable estimate. At least $50K. Problem? No one knows who the frick ordered it or why it was ordered. Where is it now? Sitting in a motor pool to die a harsh deat
See above.

Saw similar waste to a smaller extent while active duty at two separate CONUS bases, so this isn't just a problem during deployment. To have money left over at the end of the fiscal year is treated almost like a crime. You MUST SPEND ever last cent budgeted, whether it runs out that you need to or not.

I've been complaining about this for a while now, but it's great to hear someone on the ground actively confirming my concerns.

6 years of active duty, and I agree 100% with all of your thread.

Dude. These people make what's happening on CONUS bases look like exercises in frugality.

I was the same way in the IZ and Victory in 2007-2008. Cost is never a consideration. That's the way it is for the entire Government .... heck, look at those GSA fricks.

It is going on. Raise taxes all you want. As long as the money flows someone will spend it. All (ALL) federal agencies do this. None of them are immune. Repeal. 16th. Amendment. Put our Congress on a diet. Now.

Good post. Most people don't realize how much of a bloated bureaucracy our defense dept is. There is waste all over and unnecessary spending. It's why I support auditing the pentagon and the DOD. And I say that as someone who greatly respects and supports the military and has a huge family history with it. Stay safe in that dangerous part of the world.

Of course that shite happens. I'm not one of these that say, no defense spending cuts. I think every branch of government, including military needs to be audited, and cut. I do not, however, want things like weapons and armor cut, for the sake of saving pennies. Get them the best for the troops out there. But again, accounting needs to be put in place. The military, is, after all, an arm of the federal government. There is no more wasteful of an entity, than the US Federal Government.
