I thought Payton was asked about this and said he is not interested in Dallas nor leaving the saints? Does no one take the man for his words? Loomis said himself Payton will 100% be with New Orleans next year and the foreseeable future. I guess Duncan has more clout with the fanbase. Yeah, he's headed to Dallas.

He has said this before. For some reason some people think he is lying P.O.S.

He isnt going anywhere. The man likes the Saints and Loomis so much he wrote into his contract that he wouldnt work without the man. Does that not register as fricking awesome in anyone else's mind.

The fact that Payton has not signed on the dotted line tells me, and anyone with a brain, that he is waiting to see what happens in Dallas.

We have a different opinion of the word "brain" apparently.

It's really no different than when the Saints first hired Payton.

You think the team, the franchise, the organization, the city, the fanbase, the potential, the prestige and the opportunity for greatness is the same as when we first hired Payton?

The idiocy of that statement is just... well... idiotic.

If I was Sean or his agent I would be waitting to see what his market price is. If I was Benson and Loomis, I would meet that market price, whatever it is.

I believe everyone wants to get it done here in NOLA, just have to determine the cost. That will not happen untill the off-season.

This article is stupid.

Anyone ever consider that maybe the Saints are holding out.

1)If Vitt brings this team back from the dead and actually does something in the playoffs, would this diminish Paytons leverage?

2)Blah, Blah, Blah his kids are in Dallas. I beleive his daughter is about to finish high school and his son is about to start. I may be off by a year or so, but its close. Its not like he is going to be spending time with them even if he is in Dallas.

3)Brees > Romo
4)Loomis > Jones

5)???????

6)Profit

Do you see that ? at the end of the sentence?

Its a question Im throwing out there. Do I think Vitt is a better coach than Payton? Of course not, but you have to look at it from an owners view. WHAT IF Vitt takes them to the Superbowl? Does that just raise Vitts market value or does it decreases Paytons?

Its a legit discussion about market value, not talent.

Hasn't it been like 2-3 weeks since this whole contract situation arose? It's not like it's been 2-3 years. I'd imagine they are doing due diligence in working out an 8 figure salary

After his take on Bounty-gate, Duncan took a TON of criticism, some warranted, some not.

In any event, I think it affected his local media value. His worth to TP has certainly fallen since his "Bags to Riches" glory.

I think he knows his time with TP will end sooner than later. This is simply a manner of pandering to national media outlets in preparation for his departure. He is basically in step with Schefter's BS regarding Dallas. He's posturing for a new job (no, not with ESPN, but maybe a local affiliate), if you ask me.

I've never been on the bash JD bandwagon...until now.
As pointed out by fakeJD why should JD do any actual digging up info, interviews and research when he can just spew crap everywhere.

Go to espn jeffy. They deserve your weak arse sh!t.

ditto plawmac!

don't miss it
Congratulations, Jazzy Jeff! You’ve managed to, yet again, weigh in on a story that has already been thoroughly covered by the national media. Even that hack Jeff Darlington was here eating “seriously fresh po-boys” on “St. Charles Street” last week when this contract nonsense was only a few days old. Since you clearly didn’t bother to speak to anyone with any first-hand knowledge of the situation, what kept you from banging out this totally predictable thesis 10 days ago? Were you too busy retweeting and handing out your coveted “Good Stuff” hand jobs on twitter to the national media?

I'm kind of surprised that this has not been mentioned yet which kind of makes me think that I may be wrong in some way. However, doesn't the year that was left on his contract roll over to next year because he was suspended this year? I think a decision on this matter hasn't been made, or maybe I just missed it. In this case it is really stupid to say that he is going to Dallas when he is still under contract with New Orleans.
