New River...Brooks Falls near Hinton WV

These two vids were taken at about the same time.
The first video shows a WS Commander 120 getting "Taco'd" by Brooks Falls' water discharge.

movie 1
we recovered all the gear except a boot. pretty good.
and the rear end view
movie 2.
Class III,
I had a sit on top, so I was fine. but the two guys that filmed were in Canoes....they made it.
But Commander was destroyed with a 16 inch gash in it.....we melted and duct taped the boat and it made it another 21 miles.
Overall:
3 night trip
26 miles
only 2 smallmouth caught.
either way....great trip.

but at least we didn't do it at night like we did on the Dan.

Great videos! The New River is a beautiful river, for sure. With that lightnin poppin like that, I woulda been lookin for some place to hide. To heck with the cooler...

We always debate about that:
Get out of the river when it's lighting up. Trees all around.
