Ok, the lady friend wants a bow. I only know guns.

Not really hunting, just shooting targets.

Any suggestions?

Any cheap competition bow from Academy will do fine for that.

I waited until the end of the season when BPS and Cabelas were clearencing their bows online and bought a BPS brand youth bow (Really a Parker Bow, they just slapped a "Redhead" sticker on it) for $150. It is perfect for her. Short draw length, and weight adjustable up to 45lbs if she ever gets up to that.

If you want the best and don't mind spending, the Mathews Jewel is the best available. In fact, if I were buying a new bow today, I'd get it and sharpie over the pink highlights

Does pink qualify as a substitue for hunter orange?

I heard you save a good bit of money if you tie the knot yourself.

Just went through this with my daughter (10yrs). Started out with a cheap compound bow (49.99) from Academy...she shot that for 6/7 months, several times a week...we just needed to see if she was going to stick with it. So now for Christmas she’s getting the Mathews Mission Craze from Bowie's.
