without the speed

I guess that's why Bell has like 1 or 2 career catches vs LSU.

I think Saban is just trying to get some type of inroads into La/NOLA established.

Looking at his film, I am not sure his straight line speed is even the biggest problem. He just has no explosiveness or acceleration to him. He looks like he is running in wet cement for his first few steps, and that is bad news for a WR. Once he starts going though, he looks like he might run a decent 40 for a guy his size.

I do reserve the right, as a fan, to do a complete 180 and compare him to Randy Moss , if he chooses to enroll @ LSU

Hes been committed to Bama since his soph year. Didnt come to any of our camps in the past year, and has said he wasnt interested. Why give somebody that has come out and said they arent interested a scholarship?

Bama pulled a Sentimore move here. Wasted a scholly just to try to bait Miles in, it didn't work. Sentimore is at Tennessee slamming Saban at every opportunity.

Didn't claim to have that kind of information. Just looking at his size and how he ranked among WR's and that we need a couple of big WR targets and he would fit that if he had the talent and desire to be at LSU. That's all.

Unlike most of the respondents here, I think he is a solid player. Not great but solid. Honestly, I don't see much difference between him and Baker (other than Falkins is bigger). Choosing between the two, makes sense to go with the guy that loves and wants to be at LSU.

I don't really put much credence to the idea that Saban will push Falkins aside. He will be at Alabama.

I worked a High School camp that included a combine. He ran a 4.58 and a 4.6 40. He was pissed at himself.

His teammate (a CB) ran a 4.38 and a 4.43 40. Both were electrically timed.

See, that really isn't bad for his height. On the field he just looks so slow with his first few steps. Wonder if he could gain weight and be a good TE down the line...

Yea but does a big WR really need to be a burner? If a player that size runs good accurate routes and is where he is supposed to be doesn't that make him valuable to an offense? Not really comparing him, but Michael Irvin was never a burner. But he could fight for the ball, go up and get it and he ran exact routes and was at the right spot every time. All any QB he played with college or pro had to do was throw to the spot. He would be there. Sometimes speed is not the most important thing.

Is Quantavius Leslie not tall enough for you? The staff is also going after RSJ, Jonathan Rumph, and a few other tall receivers.
