Mett's play over the last two weeks makes you wonder about Jan 9th doesn't it?

And what could have been? If Mett can take the strides that he did in a one week bye and come out a completely different player giving the LSU offense a new dynamic, just imagine if the team had practised throwing the ball for 4 weeks before the BCSNCG? Lee (or maybe even Mett) could have done at least some damage. I mean it couldn't have hurt in any way. Maybe we would have even moved the ball some and given the rest of the team some confidence instead of sticking with JJ and the horrible run and option plays not even crossing midfield.

I don't wonder about it all because I saw how his first seven starts went.

Let it go man.

This was after having played 8 games you rantard. He gained some much needed experience through 8 games that he wouldn't have gotten by practicing for 4 weeks before the bowl game.

practised

It's also practiced.

So you're saying you think he didnt practice throwing at all the entire time hes been at LSU, and it wasn't until January 10th they allowed him to pick up a football?

OP almost makes it sound he thinks they didn't let him pracice throwing until October 22 after the A&M game. Completely retarded/worthless frickin thread.

no, it doesn't. Mett needed time to develop, and the coaches felt Jordan gave em the best chance to win. it is what it is.

besides, the struggles we had blocking were as big an issue as the QB play was.

yes, I'm sure, not one time in the 4 weeks before they game, they didn't practice a single pass.

either you are trolling, not very bright or didn't watch the game. The called pass plays, the longest play of the night was a 19 yd pass. On that play Peterson was wide open down the middle of the field. That play was on 2nd down, on first they ran the same play, on the pass was incomplete.

It was a different game, played with many players on both sides that did not play in 1/9, under different circumstances. It is posible that in the time since that game Mettenberger has gotten better. He is after all a 21-22 y/old kid with limited expirience. To expect that he could have just come in, after not playing all year and beaten one of the best college defenses ever is just fantasy. But if that's what you want to believe, go ahead.

ETA: The ultimatel irony is, this week in Tuscaloosa, they are questioning their God/Coach for passing TOO MUCH. That's right, they would have beaten A&M if only their stubborn coach and incompent OC had tried to ram the ball down A&M's throat on the last drive.

This, and I've been a Mett apologist from day one.

He didnt start hitting his stride until the Oline was mixed up. I think that has made a huge difference. Plus our receivers catching everything all of a sudden.

I played with my balls exactly 3 hours before kickoff the last 2 weeks and our offense was spectacular. My ball play over the last 2 weeks makes you wonder about 1/9 doesn't it? If I had only played with my balls 3 hours before the NCG our offense would have shredded Bama's defense.

WE WOULD HAVE SCORED 40 PLUS POINTS AGAINST BAMA ON 1-9 IF METT HAD PLAYED!!!!

Choctaw is a moron.

This has got to be a poor attempt at trolling. Did you not watch the first half of the season?

No because look at his play the first 7 weeks of the year. The light has seen to come on now, but he would have looked just as tentative as he did in the beginning of the season

I have long erased Jan 9th from my memory, but at least he would have had Randle to throw to.

Any ways,
