I had him as a key component towards victory last week and he did not disappoint-

Playing at right tackle for the injured Zach Strief, Charles Brown (+2.3) was the Saints’ highest graded lineman and surrendered just one pressure in pass protection.
LINK

“Charles is a high-round draft pick for us. Charles has played a lot of football. Charles is extremely athletic and he has strong hands. He’s played a lot of football for us. He had to step in yesterday and play for a player, Zach Strief, who has played very well for us. I’ve said this (before about next man) up, we have a next-man-up theory. When it’s your turn, it’s your turn to go play. Charles did a good job yesterday. He did a good job.”
Vitt on Monday

His continued development could be a huge boon to the team and cap management. He's at a $825K cap hit next year. If not him, then Bushrod will have to be extended at a higher rate ($10mil for 2yrs), or sign a spendy UFA (Branden Albert, Ryan Clady, Jake Long, etc), or invest the 1st Rd pick there (Joeckel, Lewan, etc).

He lines up against 3rd yr Lamarr Houston this week.

Chuck did really well last week. I did have some concerns going in, but the O Line was blowing people up all game, in fact we ran the ball mostly to his side. Next man up indeed

Charles Brown, Turk McBride and Tom Johnson all played extremely well this week. Very encouraging.

He played much better than I thought he would and the line overall was pretty impressive. I think RT might end up being his best spot in the future.

I don't see us taking a LT in the draft, but I wouldn't mind going after guys like Long or Albert. They can be those guys you sign and don't worry about the postion for another five or six years.

Anyway it goes, Brown's improvement is a big plus for us.

Pleasant surprise for sure. Hopefully he continues to make the best of this opportunity.

What the hell?
Man, Vitt is incredibly quotable.

The man is a total badass.
