What kinda machete do yall use/recommend for clearing brush? maybe a few sapplings too, but no big chopping.

Lost my old one a few weeks ago, it was like $15 from wal-mart, if I used it for 5 min I would havel to resharpen it, don't want something like that again.

Get a cane knife instead.
I've never liked machetes much.

go to True Value and get something made in El Salvador. Those Messicans know how to make machetes. I think the brand is Corona.

The long handle is great if you know what your getting into.
The cane knife is to keep on the 4 wheeler at all times.

Bought one a long time ago for about $4 from some guy selling a truck load of used ones at the B'ham deer expo. Best machete I ever used. I think my dad lost it or got it stolen out of his truck. Wish I could find another one for $4.

Cheap a$$ cane knives are standard equipment at our camp. Keep em on the wheeler or in the boat all the time.

What is the best brand of cane knife. I see most are around 14 bucks. I keep a cheap machete in the truck and would like to swap it out for a cane knife.

Bought a blade at the spotted dog in Columbia this year. It's a cane knife with a longer handle. That damn thing is money.

I couldn't even say.
Been havin mine since the mid 90's, from a local hardware store.

edit: it used to spend months at a time wedged in the 4 wheeler rack till I made a 4 wheeler basket.

If you can find the longer handle ones (about 12") people seem to like those better.
Mine is about a 6" handle. More common to find.
