I'm not knocking his recruiting.

I'm saying if that is all he is good for, LSU is getting slighted. And I think they are.

He had zero coaching experience before LSU. And it shows. He is way under qualified as far as LSU standards.

Doesn't really mean much before they get drafted. Read that this class will have at least our top 3 kids drafted so high that they will declare easy. These pre-draft rankings don't mean much. I bet Ole Miss was Too 10 last year with their 3 first rounders

baseball recruiting is like chess - because of scholarship limits. kids are on the team - in some cases, becuase they are willing to pay their own way or accept less scholarship - above the minimum that they have to give you
talking about three texas kids - it might be that there was nothing left to offer them
in state kids usually have TOPS - if they qualify,

Recruiting is a game of gambits. Like Chess.

Let me help bring it home. LSU, for instance, may let three players from Tejas go because they aren't going to end up on campus to take 3 other players who are slightly less talented but are more likely to end up on campus.

Thus, they have sacrificed on the front end for a hopefully commensurate advantage later.

Kind of like Chess.

I'm not even sure if he is that great of a recruiter. Paul even said he let Javi take the reigns after 09 and look what we produced after that. Recruiting has picked up since the HC is not leaving it to Javi any longer.

I don't mind Javi, but I have been frustrated with him the last few years. Lets not even get into the base running blunders because of him.

This past season he hit .468, with 10 doubles, 15 RBI and 26 runs. In 77 at-bats, he struck out only three times. He also anchored a defense that was among the toughest in Palm Beach County.

But what Siano and the Bulls will miss the most is his leadership

Sounds like a great addition.

I'm pretty sure you're thinking of David Grewe who took over the recruiting after 2009. Sanchez became recruiting coordinator when Grewe left after the 2011 season.

My bad, but Javi was recruiting. Maybe it was more Grewe...I don't know? I do know Paul has stepped his game up in recruiting and I personally contribute that to some of our recent recruiting success.

No doubt our recruiting has picked up. PG for 2013 has UF #1, LSU #2, and USCe #3.

ok, he's 28 and has been coaching 4 years.

he's young enough that he still parties with the team. So be it.

The kid from Sam Houston seems to have disappeared. So has Gionte Jackson and the McClure kid.
