Also, most LSU fans know of Kim Mulkey-Robinson, the Baylor women's basketball coach who played in college for La. Tech. Her son is a signee.

Interesting.

I just realized I misspelled Kim's married name. It's Robertson, not Robinson. I've corrected the OP.

Apparently her son's football team, Midway High School, is pretty good. They are 10-0 and in the state playoffs.

What happened with the walk on pitcher who was looking great in the scrimmages - did he make the team?

My wife and I went last night. Was hoping to see some more younger couples, but had a good time regardless

if fury made the team & the mid term guy comes in , then two have to be cut from roster, as we have 35 now

What's up w/ Cody Glenn? Gonna compete for a midweek job?

Glenn's name didn't come up at the meeting so anything I'd say about him would be pure speculation.

My guess is he might be the midweek starter but until a Sunday starter is identified, he's probably still in the mix for that job.

Honestly, it can only get better. We lost Nola who had a really big swing at times, but I think some freshmen like Bregman and Chinea (if he gets enough PT) will come through. Chinea blasted the scoreboard in the last fall scrimmage.

Tyler Moore will surprise people, and I'm optimistic that Sciambra can bring some power to the lineup once in a while.

So if anything, equal to or better than last year IMO.

he'll most likely start midweek in the beginning of the season, while CPM will be trying to figure out who to put in the Sunday spot. I really like Bourgeois, but I think he'll stay as a reliever, unless McCune stinks up the place again. Either way, Glenn will probably stick to midweeks unless we need some relieving help against a rough conference opponent.

They will make the roster work, if Fury makes it that probably means someone will leave
Could be a true fr that might see jc as a better option, who knows

19 man class with 3 for sure headed to MLB is not that big of a class when you look at what LSU stands to lose:

Rhymes
Katz
Edward
Jones, JaCoby (will go high enough to leave)
Glenn (draft eligible so)
Bourgeois
Ross (draft eligible jr)
Yocom
Berry
LaMarche
Eades
Rumbelow
Bonvillain
Cotton

I'm happy to see that we'll have 3-4 left handed hitters in our everyday lineup.

at least Moore, Laird, Scaimbra / Stevenson.

Went to HS with Kim Mulkey, damn she could play some ball.

Can't wait for baseball to begin, already looking at the schedule to see what road trips I can make.

One thing I've noticed and maybe ya'll could chime in is our overall team size has been down the last 2-3 years. You look at our roster and we have 2-3 position players that are 200 lbs.+ You look at Florida's roster and they have 11-12 200+ position players. Is this recruiting philosophy, weight program, what? I want 220 lb. 1st and 3rd basemen. I would like to avoid 2-3 everyday players weighing in at 170 lbs. and barely 5'7".

Man that is a big list...

Obviously repairing the bullpen will be key after next season.

Next year will probably just be like any other year with more newcomers than returning players.
