It really does blow your mind if you think about it. 08 and 09 were bad but we managed bowl eligibility both years. 2011 was very good and last year was just amazing. All with bottom of the barrel QB play. Lee was good some of the time as was JJ but on average, both were liabilities. Neither could be depended on to win the game. No 2 min offense, no 3rd and medium or long. Just punts, returns and defensive football. I see Mett now and wonder if we would win any big games this year without him. Probably could, just hard to see how.

Must be the coaching.

Great Defense, generally (though not always) solid offensive line play. Great Special teams, lots of pic sixes and scoop n scores created by the defense.

Each QB had their moments. JJ crushed A&M and Lee played amazing in the first six games last year.

JJ and Lee will always have my gratitude for owning Auburn 3 out of 4 years.

I agree. I think JJ also beat Alabama twice too. Remember the 2 point conversion in 2010? I think he threw among five defenders.

It's actually amazing. It has a lot to do with coaching. Our guys play with passion and are very motivated. That comes from leadership IMO.

Les Miles/Chavis and the last two games of 2012, Krag.

JJ did. Lee had a problem with Bama.....it was a popular idea to put him in the BCSNC, but it wouldn't have done anything IMO.

I agree. Not every QB is going to work out perfectly, but things could definitely had been worse. JJ almost broke a record for wins at LSU. Lee, though he had his faults, came through enough to keep us respectable. I will NEVER degrade a Tiger, past, present, or future.

Great defense.. We would get up by a touchdown and never look back. We have just been that good on defense the last few years. And you definitely have to place some of the respect on the coaches.

Agreed. I almost wish Les would have done it just so the rantards wouldn't have been able to say "what if".

7 picks against Bama in less than 2 full games in his career. Dude did NOT look eager to face that rush on 1/9 when they kept showing him on the sidelines.

+1

Split with Bama, Florida, and Arkansas and took 2 of 3 from Georgia through great eras for those teams.

Swept Tennessee and South Carolina too.

OM was actually their worst series. Split, but the losses were brutal

Huge OOC wins against GT, UNC, UW, A&M, Oregon, and swept WVU.

Only loss was a 2 pointer to PSU in the Mud Bowl.

41 wins overall in their 4 year era.

Not too shabby.

How we didn't go under .500 in 2008 will ALWAYS blow my mind

That offense and that defense were the worst combination

2008 might've been the worst team since Dinardo.

It really is amazing how bad the passing game has been for so long and to still win plenty games. It's also amazing that the passing game WAS so bad for so long. 2010 and even 2009 could've been special teams with better QB play. And 2011 would've been among the best ever.

The worst year I remember. But then we turn around and annihilate a highly rated GA tech team that was a 2 TD favorite. I was sure we were going to lose that one.

Both JJ and Lee had their moments but we also had games where they couldn't make any throws. 2009 Georgia comes to mind. I believe JJ had 1 or 2 good passes that entire game.

Somehow, things tended to work out for us.

We did have a qb, just not one consistent in throwing the ball.

Clearly, JJ couldn't do it this time...so essentially, you were saying it was ok to give up. Kinda like the movie tin cup. Keep hitting that same shot over and over again with crap results even though you could lay up and try something else. That's just silly in a game for all the marbles.

Oh well, INB4.....OH NO NOT THIS shite AGAIN, PLEASE GET OVER IT.

Has a lot to do with coaching. Much to the dismay of your regular posters here that despise Les.

Seriously, it's beyond my comprehension how that team last year even sniffed the NCG with those two QBs.
