I am getting the cravings for some home made sandwiches. What are your favorites?

I make a home made sandwich that I have been craving. French bread sliced then toasted under the broiler. A layer of mayo, a layer of Thousand Island dressing, Boars Head deli sliced smoked turkey, and smoked ham, Oscar Meyer or whatever brand cotto salami, sliced pepper jack cheese, then provalone on the heel. Toast it under the broiler until the provolone makes a nice melt.

On the crown, I like to put a layer of mayo, shredded lettuce, sliced sweet bell peppers, sliced tomatoes, and my version of olive salad, green and black olives, onion, fresh garilc, parmesan cheese, and olive oil, chopped up in the processor spooned over the tomatoes.

Beats the hell out of anything Subway or the like can make. I am going to have to make this soon, posting it mad me crave it more.

Just about any sandwich at Fathead's in Pittsburgh.

Example:

"The Artery Clogger"

Sorry no recipe. Please visit the Fatheads website for more info.

My favorite homemade sandwich:

2 slices white bread
1 slice American cheese
Hellmans mayo.

Serve w/ tomato soup.

It's the simple things in life: a peanut butter and apple slice sandwich.
Note: the apple slices need to be laterally sliced so the sadwich won't fall apart plus you can fit more apple slices onto the sandwich that way.
My favorite apples to use are granny smiths and red delicious; both need to be very crisp (my preference)

Sorry, no pics:

But my all time favorite is:
some olive loaf from Rouse's,
Bunny Bread
Mayo
Mustard
Swiss

Make sandwich.
Place in Ziploc.
Put Ziploc in ice chest.
Catch fish, remove ice into another ice chest for trout/redfish.
Let Ziploc'd sandwich sit until fish are no longer caught for 10-15 minutes.
Eat with cold beer.

Will do. I may make one this weekend. I will post the steps involved. Labor of love, for sure.

I don't post many pics here, because I'm lazy about uploading to photobucket.

Food board and OB are the best place for people to see what you've done for yourself.

Stick to those two boards with the pictures and you'll be fine.

Every now and then we get on a panini kick. One of my favorites:

Blanch some fresh asparagus, spread goat cheese on each half of a french bagette, place asparagus on bread, cover with sun dried tomatoes, put sandwich in you panini maker, enjoy

Boat food and home food are different most of the time to me. Nothing wrong with olive loaf, hogs head cheese, viennas, smoked oysters, sardines, pooted meat, etc on the water or in the woods.

Every trip to the coast, I eat a can of smoked oysters, with a toothpick. Brings me luck.

Liberally apply crunchy p-nut butter to one side of oatmeal bread slice. Cover with raisins and a second slice of oatmeal bread. Eat with tall glass of cold chocolate milk.

That sounds good, I love asparagus. And I have some plain goat cheese in the fridge. My panini press is a small Foreman grill! Lol, Works just fine...

My tuna club sandwich is pretty damn awesome.

Grilled sashimi grade tuna seasoned with sea salt and ground pepper cooked rare, like a 1.25" thick piece.

Ciabatta lightly grilled with Blue Plate mayo spiked with wasabi paste smeared on both sides of the bread.

Arugala tossed with homemade teryaki sauce. Half lite soy sauce and half OJ, 2 TBS of orange blossom honey, and a crushed nob of ginger reduced to a syrup. A dash of sesame oil.

Thick slice of creole tomato.

3 slices of Neuske's thick cut bacon.

ENJOY!!!

Change the Chisesi to thin sliced and the mayo to Blue Plate and I could agree with that meal. Charles Chips.

I'd say a good roast beef and gravy but apparently I need gravy rehab so I don't want to fuel the fire.

I love this one too. Leave off the L. I like a BT. I eat this a lot late spring/early summer when the tomatoes are plentiful in my garden.
