re: LSU Urban Legends Around Campus

There are tunnels, went in them in the 80's. Nothing special though.

The green grating in the sidewalk in front the law building.

Legend: if you step on it you'll fail your next test.

I heard there is a tunnel system.

This is now a legend? Jeebus...

I also heard there are dorms built in to the stadium

Really??? THIS is an urban legend???

Does anybody spend any time on campus anymore? (As if anyone ever went to class...)

LSU's campus is (was) a great place to play hide and seek with campus security - all kinds of weird shiiite there to explore.

As of 1998, there were, and I am sure are, tunnels. There were also dorm rooms in the stadiums. Go check out the tunnels.

My dad said someone committed suicide by jumping out one of the windows of Kirby Smith, that's why they all have pad locks. Budweiser supposedly offered to build the Union if they only served their beer. This was back when the drinking age was 18.

Heard a legend that ghosts of confederate soldiers cross the street around highland and lee at night in October. Not exactly LSU but still cool.

LSU urban legend: there was some kid on the football team named Honey Badger that was suppose to be good

There was a bar in the bottom of Hatcher Dorm.

There were fountains in front of the old music building.

Deke is the only Greek organization that owns the land their house is on. All the others are longterm leases from LSU.

All the old oaks were planted by Steele Burden many years before he donated the Rural Life Museum to LSU.

The Indian Mounds were just the breasts of a land sculpture similar to poverty point.

The Union parking lot used to be a grove dedicated to an LSU student killed in WWI

Maybe someday his ghost will get so pissed he'll come back and haunt the place

I heard every 20 years a Creature wakes up from his long slumber and feeds off of the students and takes their body parts and uses them as his own.

re: LSU Urban Legends Around Campus

Lets see, I have heard a few rumors, but not sure if any of them are true or simply made up stuff:

If you bang a broad on stage at the Greek Theatre you will marry her;

That Huey Long used to have special moonshine made at the old campus sugar plant;

That if you walk through a sequence of doors in Nicholson Hall a certain way, you will ace the class you take there;

That on certain nights of the year you can see an Indian child and her dog on the Indian mounds - they disappear as you approach them;

A worker who robbed houses in University Acres stashed a large horde of jewelry in the walls while building the 'Cow Palace' - the police were searching cars and he had to - but it was never found and still there today;

University Lake - just out from Baton Rouge Beach was the location of a small cemetery prior to being converted into a lake. The graves are still there underwater and sororiety girls have reported sightings at dusk;

There was a beer (Tiger Beer) made in the 1930's for the first live LSU mascot. A truckload was sent from Manhatten Brewery in Chicago to Huey Long. Al Capone owned the brewery. Today only a single Tiger can is known to exist - found on a bar shelf down from the brewery in Chicago. It reportedly recently changed hands for over $100,000! (Google it if you do not believe.). Here

In the late 70's there was an 'official' unofficial network (including a booklet) of coeds willing to get extra 'tutoring' to improve their grades. Reportedly, a woman teacher even took 'advantage' of the service.

Not sure if any of these are true or not, but you wanted legends ...

College students used to frequent bars on highland rd. north of campus

Todd Graves of raising canes failed a project involving a business proposal for a Canes-like restaurant in school (probably more of an "einstein" like thing)
