Three-star defensive tackle and fullback Kennard Swanson (Lakeland, Fla./Lake Gibson) was offered by Florida on Monday, according to Lake Gibson assistant coach Robert Whitaker.

The 6-foot, 242-pound senior is committed to LSU and is being recruited as a fullback by both SEC programs. At a defensive lineman, Swanson has 16 sacks this season.

The Gators also offered Swanson’s junior teammate Kendall Gant. It’s the first offer for the 6-foot-3, 177-pound Gant, a safety.

Whitaker said Gant will likely be in attendance at next Saturday’s Florida-Florida State game.

it is interesting that a fullback commit gets a florida offer and a blocking te commit was being looked at by bama. wilson must be doing a very good job at evaluating under the radar guys.

Does Florida even use fullbacks? Serious question.

Well urban didn't leave them any.

Florida is going to a pro style offense so couldn't hurt to have one if one of your linemen get hurt

If they have to use two scholarships to pull him, oh well

Wilson is the recruiting coordinator. That doesn't mean he is the sole evaluator of every guy that LSU recruits. It means he handles logistics.

It's more likely that every offensive coach and Miles eval'd Swanson and Stokes rather than just Wilson.

And from what I read, i wouldn't be too worried. It seems like a "feeler" offer

Good to hear...sounds like this kid is a beast. And fullback is quickly becoming one of my favorite positions for LSU.

Yep, and it's not just the power full backs. These guys are really athletic and can be a factor on the offense with the ball in their hands

If he didn't before he got that UF offer, he does now.

Fact that Gilmore actually bought that pitch..and still committed to LSU shows how unimportant that pitch is

All of that wasn't even necessary.

One word, Copeland! If I am a FB I am coming in and learning from the best. Hard to believe that he is only a JR and has one more year still. Dude is a straight up beast

IMO if LSU lands Beckwith, Melvin Jones gets reps at FB.
