Not sure why everyone keeps saying this...there are plenty of "gurus" out there that have LSU playing in the Fiesta Bowl.

I haven't heard this that much. But it could happen I suppose. Shorter distance for fans. Not sure how well the Aggie fanbase travels though. Don't forget it's all about the dollars for the bowls.

LSU bought 40,000 Rose Bowl tickets before we were even accepted

You don't have to tell me how well LSU fans travel. Hope the fiesta officials are aware.

I think its funny that people blame one play call on losing a game or ruining the whole entire season. You people act like its always so easy to just pick up 3 or 4 or 5 yards and that you should score a TD every single time the ball is in the red zone. Guess what? If Bama would have just punched the football in the end zone when they were inside the 5 yard line at home, this wouldn't even be a disucssion right now.

Not every single play call works and if something else had been called there is no guarantee that it would have worked. Its funny how everyone on here can second guess every play call that doesn't work after the fact and say how they would have made a much better play call that surely would have worked.

Say what you will, it was a bad call against someone as savy as Nick Saban. Not saying that cost us the game though, but sure as hell would've helped win it.

Easy to say after the fact. Im sure if the reverse on fourth down to DeAngelo Peterson would not have worked in 2010 you would have been first in line to say what a terrible play call that was...but that one worked...so we don't criticize.

Ok now this I agree with and that is my point. One play call doesn't make or break an entire game. Other plays have to be executed throughout the game. The putrid defense on the last drive had something to do with losing as well. And if you would have told every Tiger fan in that stadium before the game, "LSU will be ahead 17-14, with 1:30 left, Bama will have the football at their own 27 yard line with 0 timeouts left. Every single LSU fan would have taken that in a second...and most of them would have laughed at you and thought you were crazy as well given that most fans thought we would lose by 3 TDs.

Nope. Good call at the right time. What don't you understand about this?

The reverse wasn't run into the teeth of the defense. It involved some misdirection against the defense. The sneak by ware was directly into an 11 man front. All 11 Alabama defenders were between the hash marks. If you can't see the problem there, you are not very football savvy.

I don't want to get into another big discussion over this because it's been beaten to death so i'll just say this...

the Copeland PF was more detrimental than any play call

Traveling to the Rose Bowl is a helluva lot different the the Fiesta. LSU fans weren't even willing to pay 500-1000 for National Championship tix and sleep in their own bed last year. This trip will cost 3-5 times that amount and won't be for the 'Ship.

You were probably one of the guys sitting behind me for the game. Every single play they bitched about the call. EVERY play. We run up the middle, "Goddamnit, why don't we run outside??" We run outside, "Goddamnit, why are we running to the outside, we are too slow to get out there?!?"

That took away a good chance at 3 very much needed additional points, no doubt.

This +infinity.

This is also something that is perfectly within LSUs control.

Bama stepping up and making a play or two on defense is not.

Yeah but the difference is that they havent done either before. The BCSNCG was old hat for many since it had already happened twice in the last 10 years before January. That's ridiculous, stupid, and spoiled but it is what it is.
