This morning he joined that cult. It took them like 5 minutes to convince him to join.

It was always something with that guy, must have been exhausting being this dipshit's friend.

he became so insufferable on that show.

Im pretty sure it was the vegan diet that did him in and made him all moody.

It honestly seemed like the later seasons, Sean was upset/crying about something 90% of the time, and then was a good friend the other 10% of the time

Corey also passed on that college chick this morning. I bet as topanga chunked up more and more he really came to regret that move

He had a tough life though. His dad was never there and when he was, he wasnt working (except for being te school janitor for like a week) while His friend Cory was living the suburban middle class dream.
You would think that his tough life would have made him a stronger person but he couldn't deal with turner's motor cycle accident, topanga and Cory's breakup, his dead beat dad's death, he and Angela's breakup, and topanga and Cory's wedding. He hated change.

Shawn became an emotional mess but the bigger disaster was what Eric turned into. Ladies man to complete moronic dumpster fire.

While that is true and sometimes he had a legit reason to melt down, sometimes he went WAY overboard. Case in point: Cory's wedding. He frickin steps up in front of the entire church and stops the wedding, then fights Cory. An actual fight, at the wedding! Then after they talk and make up (while surprisingly no adults have intervened), he stands at the altar with Cory. Embarrassing.

I know it's just a show, but I mean you'd think people in the pews would be more outraged at what happened. They were all like "oh well, just another wedding fight. Let's let it play out"

Excellent example. His hate for change reached a breaking point that day. He quit as Cory's best man. He almost didnt go to the wedding and then when he did, he started shite. When Cory called him trailer trash. It was on.

...and he reacted like a confused teenager.

Hell, I don't blame him.

His mom ditched the family, the dad was always gone (then died), and his legal guardian just disappears in the middle of the night (Turner). The last part was a joke but you see where I'm going.

The producers needed Shawn to be the lone wolf, thoughtful, confused, rough-around-the-edges rouge character to play opposite Milquetoast Corey.

The whole premise of the show is that their friendship endures despite their lack of common personality traits.

Sean's breakdowns should be a cautionary tale for why you don't date black women.

Totally off subject but I love how the college psychology class that Shawn was sitting in on while in high school was taught by the same actor who played Angela's drill sergeant father a season later.

The cult episode is one of my favorites. He just needed to center himself.

Today Sean found a purse and completely fell in love with a chick based on the contents of what he found in her purse
