"Wins only bring relief. Losses bring you grief" - attributed to Steve Spurrier.

104.5 was discussing a caller to Bama radio said "y'all were crying last year to get in. y'all are crying to get in again"

Are LSU fans at the same point too. Always bemoaning play calling or style or something else? Do you enjoy the games anymore?

edit: another thread attributes the above quote to Darryl Royal

Nobody enjoys losing. The people who bitch after a solid win will botch either way.

As a whole, absolutely. It's not longer "fun" for about 90% of our fanbase. It's now just expected and when we actually lose it's omgggg the sky is falling.

I don't think so. Many fans were able to see positives out of the Bama loss

and while you have people ripping stuff after wins, in general LSU fans understand the role CFB plays in life...not all but IMO most do

Win a big game = ecstatic
Win a game we should win = satisfied
Lose a big game = disappointed
Lose to a shitty team that we should crush = saddened
Any phyrric victory = relieved but concerned.

Sounds good to me.

seconded, we did what we were suppose to and we did it pretty cleanly compared to most of the games before it.

I was just talking about this yesterday with my roommate. I still enjoy the games, I may be part of the 5% that enjoyed the BAMA game and even soaked in our play for the following days (in a good way). However, I agree that a majority of the fanbase does not enjoy it even when we do win, there's always something (poor folk).

But when we go to a playoff system whether it's 4 or 8 teams, I think the pressure to win every single game will obviously die and a loss won't mean so much negativity.

i may sulk for 5 minutes after a loss, but then i take my purple and gold off and move on with my normal life. I enjoy the wins for a bit longer than i stew over the losses, but I hardly find it necessary to let a loss affect my home life.
