Meh, it's the offseason for them, why not get a free check to fly to Russia and practice with the team a few times? Especially considering it raises the chances of him being called back when it matters

This is a fair point, but it would probably suck for 33 year old Rimando...he's the same age as
Howard. He'll never play a meaningful game for us.

True, he's definitely our #2 in this game though.

I kinda think we're wasting time with Sean Johnson and hamid

Well one of those players is going to be a goalkeeper, most likely Sean Johnson. The other will probably be a defender, or an unnecessary midfielder.

The Chandler situation mirrors the Andy Najar drama. Najar grew up in Honduras, spent a few years of high school in the US, barely speaks English, yet people got mad because he chose to represent his home country?

Chandler grew up in Germany, barely speaks English, and his one American connection is an estranged father. If he wants to play, great. If not, I understand his reasoning. Most of these Germanicans have a similar family background. Terrence Boyd openly resents his deadbeat dad, yet maintains that he loves America. That's awesome. Danny Williams is the only one who grew up with his American dad.

Agreed, they have been very inconsistent with the youth teams and their clubs. They're pretty athletic and look the part, but their play has been disappointing. Hopefully someone supplants them in the near future.

American Soccer Now has Kennedy after howard- guzan- rimando. I also like Hall, I think hamid and johnson have some growing up to do.

Problem with Kennedy is he's 30 (only 3 years older than hall, but that's almost a full WC cycle) and likely by the time Those three are done, he will be close as well

We could see the return of Williams on the wing.

I highly doubt it. He has played too well in the 6 role. Klinsy is an idiot if he moves him back there.

Germanicans

I dont know if this is a typo or what yall have deemed these guys but it should definitely be Germericans not Germanicans. Germanicans to me sounds more like a mix between German and Dominican. Just a pet peeve of mine. Long live the Germericans!!!

I think they've decided that he'd be better suited missing this game and preparing for next weekend's tottenham game. He'll be there for the games that matter.

I'd have to imagine one of the goalies doesn't dress. Howard will obviously play, so that means one dude is flying all the way to Russia from the US to sit in the stands. That's awful

Certainly we can dress more than 18? Hell, with 6 subs, 17 can play.

Is it typical to play primarily Euro based players when the game is over there? Give them exposure to the staff since it is harder to get them stateside to practice?

Yes.

Which is why I'm surprised Rimando is getting a call up and not Guzan or Lichaj.

Just remembered the plan of having the gold cup and hex as two different rosters, that might play a major part in these callups

Exactly.

Why not David Yeldell then?
