I have a theory I've shared before about zombies getting "smarter" on here before. After seeing this trailer it seems very appropriate to restate it here again. So let me entertain the idea:

The concept of zombies growing smarter leads me to believe that there will be a point where the zombie no longer becomes a pawn to its instincts. This works across all zombie scenarios in story, comic, flim, and TV where zombies evolve.

Original zombies were slow lethargic creatures, other renditions have fast and organized zombies, this is about those types. If a zombie evolves to a faster or more capable zombie in a particular work, then logically the end of that evolution has to be that the zombie will no longer be a zombie. Physiologically, if you use The Walking Dead logic, the zombie will have to use more of its brain to amp up its speed and prowess. In doing so that zombie will become closer to being human. As this progresses the zombie's brain function will become so ordered that normal zombie processes will be able to be controlled by it, so it will practically be human.

So if there is a story where a virus takes over humans, kills them, and then reanimates them...and that virus increases their function as time progresses(I am Legend is the perfect example of this), then you have to assume that in that universe the Zombie Apocalypse will end if you just wait it out. If you just wait for zombies to evolve to a more sophisticated form.

Consider that next time you watch a movie while that takes place.

Thank you for listening.
