Because the coach was not doing anything wrong. You don't just voluntarily go along with someone else's bullshite when you know you're in the right.

ETA: Half the time, police officers don't even know the laws they're supposed to uphold, you really think that douchebag knew the LHSAA rules regarding playoff games?

I'm replying at the end because I don't want to go back to the line of posts, but I really hate when people imply they have huge inside info and then refuse to say what it is.

Those people should be banned. If you aren't going to say what it is, then leave it off the board.

That would be a pretty shitty thing to happen. Especially over this whole stupid ordeal

You end a whole crew of seniors career for it, and take away a game from another senior class from whoever they are playing.

Who were you told by? Were you told that Parkway may forfeit or that the LHSAA will make Parkway forfeit? Just asking because they were selling tickets at Parkway today and I bought 3 and booked a room. Parkway also chartered some buses for fans and the team. You would think that they (LHSAA) would have already told them so they wouldn't be making all of these preperations and if Parkway was planning on forfeiting themselves, why would they be selling tix and bus rides at the school.

Because the band director gave Tut the ten minutes from 635-645. Technically the time he was asked to leave was his time.

According to a hahnville coach there is no talk of any forfeit...

According to folks at lhsaa 3 things from last seemed being looked at.

Whether he knows LHSAA rules or not is irrelevant. Cops don't enforce civil or private orgs rules & regulations. Here in South Florida, we get calls from the condo commandos all the time because someone in the neighborhood is violating HOA rules. I tell them tough nubs, not a police matter. This cop is in danger of a unlawful detainment suit. (This in no way meets the standard for a trespassing charge that I can tell)

correct but if at that point the principal claims the opposing coach is trespassing... that is a different matter.

we had an interesting case w our HOA - guy kept sneaking into neighborhood pool after hours - someone kept threatening him w police action... police called once - come out.. not enforcing HOA rule.. sorry charlie.. your problem. now if we could claim he was trespassing - different story.

at the end of the day - the LHSAA needs clearer guidelines on this.... not more rules or loop holes but more clarity

All they need to do is specify how many minutes before kickoff the teams must clear the field and specify how many minutes the band can have before kickoff.....doesn't seem too hard to do.

The Parkway principal is not the property owner in this situation. She had no right to have the coach removed, and the cop had no right to move him. They should both lose their jobs.

Think about it this way. If a principal can force a team off the field during pregame warmups, then she could do it during the game as well.
