Kentucky coaching search and wish list (seems Petrino has moved top of the list)

I know...I know, Ol Bobby Petrino is lobbying for the UK job (either using us to get Auburn to jump or he knows he is damage goods and know one wants him). Kudos to him, he has the fan base all giddy and jumping on the AD to pull the trigger and offer him the job. I don't think he will ever be UK's head football coach, he is toxic and is a major prick to deal with.

So, this is what is swirling around Lexington.

1. Sonny Dykes. Was an UK grad assistant under Mumme. Has an aggreessive style of play and comes from a coaching family.

2. Kirby Smart. Wishful thinking, everyone would love to have him...but it is obvious he is waiting for a better and big time program. Was under Coach Hatcher at Valadosta State with several UK connections. Would be a huge pick up, but it is not happening.

3. Neil Smith. Once again, connections to UK as an assistant under Mumme. Don't think he would excite the fan base. Now, he would be awesome to have as an OC with Sonny Dykes, homerun.

4. Kingsberry. TAM Coordinator...see above.

5. Chavis. Name has been surfacing. I do not see it happening, and waaaaaaaay down the list.

Wildcard-Rex Ryan....sure, laugh all you want. But he will get a call if he is shite canned by the Jets. Father and mother still in Shelbyville and she is not doing so well. But in reality, he is going in television and do not see him coaching college, but I am sure we would offer Cal type of money to get him here if he would listen!

And if we strike out on top 2 choices, then look for our AD to bend over and take it by begging the slime/prick Petrino to come and save us from the mess we would be in (if Auburn or Colorado does not snag him).

I don't want him, but I think y'all would do good with Kirby. He won't stay for a long time but wouldn't leave your program in a bad place.

UK would be lucky if Kirby Smart even considers us. I do not see it happening. But he does have a lot of UK connections (Valadosta State staff)...I am sure he could get the old gang back and make magic happen in Lexington. But, it is a pipe dream.

Everyone is up in arms why we will not hire Petrino now. I just do not see our AD making that move...if Auburn does not want him, then that should tell you a lot. Plus, I am sure Mike Slive has something to say about a school allowing him back in conference.

Not flaming, but going to Kentucky right off the bat would be career suicide

Yea, same logic bullshite used regarding Louisville. Just getting us to a bowl game makes a coach a damn hero and get a street named after him in Lexington. 6-7 wins in Lexington, everyone is giddy.

Let's be honest, Dooley is a UK level coach. Dykes will do great at UK. He has been hire and understands the program.

I hope none you posted. I want a strong defensive coach as HC. My vote goes to Tim DeRuyter.

Ultimately I think we will end up with an older coach (Fulmer, Tuberville) who has SEC experience.

Sorry, looks like going more offensive.

Also, add to the list, Brent Pease...he has expressed interest of the job. Another Mumme coordinator ahile at UK.

Mike, you are probably right, and we will continue to have 3-9, 4-8, maybe 5-7 records.

Why doesn't UK and KU just schedule 12 games with each other and go back & forth all season? Seriously, why bother with football?

Frick Slive. He would have no jurisdictional grounds to prevent Petrino from taking a job in the SEC.

Kentucky, still sorry we fired him instead of just giving him a severe arse whipping to straighten him up but keeping his job... He is probably your best hope of getting the program up and running.

The PR bullshite would die out after a while and y'all started winning a few games. You could wait it out.

Kentucky hiring Petrino would be a god hire. He did nit violate NCAA regulations, he just was a cheatng husband.

As far as Kentucky is concerned, if they can overlook his is scandal, he would get them on the wining track.

Taggart would be murdered by some towel waving redneck if he went to UK

I'm not sure what your point is with that remark, so I will leave it alone.

Taggart is a solid coach, but I don't think UK would get a coach from within it's own state at a lower level at this point. The fan apathy is as bad as I have ever seen it, and I can't imagine UK doing that.

If Dykes is hired, what becomes of Tony Franklin. I don't see him being welcomed back. Dykes could hire the OC at Texas Tech. If and when TT opens up, Dykes will pack his bags and head to Lubbock.
