Nothing softens the sting of being fired from the Los Angeles Lakers organization like a chicken sandwich ... just ask ex-coach Mike Brown ... who hit up a Chick-fil-A right after he got the chop today.

TMZ obtained photos of Brown hanging at a Chick-fil-A restaurant in Costa Mesa, CA around 11:30 AM ... just a few hours after news broke that he was fired from the team over their dismal 1-4 start.

We're told Brown was super-nice to fans ... taking pics and shaking hands ... but he never discussed the firing.

Interviewing Magic Johnson on SportsCenter right now, and it sounds like the phone is in his mouth.

Just really fricking weird sounding. Also reminds me about how unintelligent MJ always sounds when he talks.

D'Antoni wouldn't be a great fit for their roster outside of Nash and Howard anyway. Has to be Phil or bust for the Lakers, don't think they would do this without someone lined up.

Of course if he gets the blame he must get some credit for leading his team to the league best record 2 years in a row. Im sure he didnt tell his superstar to stand around with his thumb up his arse in the playoffs.

You can't say something like that when you're taking out two of the big pieces

Phil open to coaching return

Phil is coming back, the writing is on the wall.

Phil can't save buss' arse for every terrible hire he makes though

Meeks is the only other rotational guy who really fits though, they need shooters and athletes. He'd be great for them long term with Nash and Howard but unless they pulled off a few trades this year would be a waste.
