Is he still gone? And has any information been made public on why he left?

He's gone. Personal reasons. Vague but true.

Yes, but since bringing this up each and every week the O-line continues to shine. So no reason to not have the Alex Hurst pre game thread.

Or because it is a little weird for a Senior to quit the team and leave his teammates in the middle of a season.

This does broach the subject on what is "owed" to the fans in terms of explanation - and what Hurst owed the team and the school (based on his scolly).

He posted on his facebook that he had a bulging disk in his back and torn ligaments in his shoulder. He said he just couldnt play anymore.

NOT one single thing is owed to the fans. The guy is having personal issues and frankly, it is nobody's damned business what they are. The coaches are fine with it and it is an internal matter. The fans aren't "owed" anything. What an entitled load of crap. How would you like it if every single detail of your personal business was up for public consumption?

What you stated aren't my beliefs at all - I merely asked the question to get opinions.
I wish Hurst the best and respect his decision and am thankful for the years and hard work he invested.

That's cool...and my reply wasn't necessarily targeted at you specificially, but to those in general who feel like they are "owed" an explanation.

I wished I could spill the beans about Hurst. But good luck to him in the pros.

I say it in every thread about Hurst. Alex Hurst is one of my favorite players because of when and how he committed. He was at the Florida game in Tiger Stadium with Tebow when we went for it on 4th down several times during the final drive with Hester pounding it down the field. The Stadium was certainly alive that night. I was absolutely affected by that game. So was Hurst. He sought out Coach Miles after the game and committed on the spot. He understands what it is to play in Tiger Stadium at night in a big game.
