welsh is a real good area for ducks. congrats

i'll prob be hunting a little pond in the middle of rice/crawfish ponds about a mile off I10 about 5 minutes from my house

i'll try to get video of how many ducks stay there...y'all won't believe it

About to head out to go camp on a sandbar on the red river and bust some ducks in the morning! Whenever I call em in close the first time ima raise my gun up and yell "choot em choot em!"

Near Fenton IIRC. I hunt at a buddy's place. Went there once or twice last year.

Got a new pup that I CANNOT wait to get hunting. He may be a little young still (10 months), but I think I can ease him in and that he'll have a blast (and hopefully pick up a couple birds in the process)

Heading back to NELA in approximately 168 hours

My first and only Boykin (the avi is not him but looks very similar)

I've never trained a retriever, so it's all new to me. I'm nervous how he will do, but I think he'll be fine. Super fast learner, so once he gets the hang of it, it's all good.

I plan on hunting some small timber holes at first with him. That way, the birds are right in his face and most retrieves will be in close. Might even shed a tear if/when my little brown buddy picks up his first bird

That's awesome, I thought about getting one a five years back but ended up with a lab instead; my next one is going to be a Drahthaar. Give us a report on how he does
