Beer Recommendations

Starting to become a beer snob and trying new beers. I'm looking for more beers to try and recommendations for different beer styles. I don't think IPA is my style. Beers I have tried and liked recently are Chimay, Delirium Tremens and Nocturnal, Scottish Ales, Arrogant Bastard and Pumpkin beers. I know they are nothing special but I really like Newcastle and Zeigenbock. Give me suggestions

You can get into IPAs... Sierra Nevada Pale Ale is a good beer to start to get into hoppier brews.
It sounds like you like Belgian beers, so try St. Bernardus or Westmalle.

For some reason I'm not a big fan of SN Pale Ale. The Torpedo is probably my favorite IPA that I can regularly find.

if you like Arrogant Bastard, you're not far from a hop head. I'm not sure of it's IBUs, but many IPAs are lower. Just try more of the IPAs not made in the west coast style, like Bell's Two Hearted

I'm kinda into German wheats and bocks right now, and specifically doppelbocks. They are cheap and delicious

Sixpoint is a good brewery all around. The Sweet Action is a great amber. Plus its fun to say, "give me some Sweet Action in the can."

The Miracle IPA is the only one I'm not a fan of, but it's not even bad, just there are better IPAs out there.
Clementine 1.5 and Eagle Claw Fist are good less hoppy beers.

Clown Shoes Brown Angel was good. Its a double brown ale. Clementine was also good

Welcome to my world. I hated IPAs for a long time, but I eventually realized that it is an acquired taste. Drink more, try more, and you'll find some you like eventually. Once you do you'll begin to find more of them palatable. For me it was the Southern Tier double IPA that kicked it off.
That being said, there are plenty of craft alternatives to IPAs. Personally I'm a huge fan of brown ales, stouts, Black IPAs, and pumpkin beers.
If you prefer darker, more robust flavors, Black IPAs are a great starting point. If you're in BR I know that Calandro's carries the Sam Adams Norse Legend (or it did the last time I was there) that was solid. So is Rogue's Dad's Little Helper. Both of those are big breweries that distribute widely and constitute good taking off points.
Bottom line is find a style that you find pleasurable and enjoy it for what it is. Don't let people degrade your taste, it's entirely subjective.
ETA: If your distaste for IPAs stems from Abita's offering, you owe it to yourself to try more. Jockamo is a horrible, horrible beer.

...and if your in the Louisiana area and want something local it's hard to go wrong with anything NOLA produces.

I don't know what everyone one here thinks about it but I love Shocktop and it's a Belgian beer.

I tried NOLA Hopitoulis thought it tasted like coors light mixed with Bombay Saphire, too piney for my taste. What's the difference in chimay blue and red, had the yellow and it was a step down from blue
